I've read mixed reviews of the Concourse Steakhouse. Now that it'll be open until the end of May, I'm considering a visit during our trip. Is the food/service/atmosphere worth the money? Does anyone have pics inside the restaurant? Also, do you know if we can view the Electrical Water Pageant from the Contemporary? TIA!

This was our FAVORITE dinner during our free dining trip last year. The food and service was the best! This is the one place we were dying to return to this year - and of course it'll be closed by the time we go back :sad2: I know we didn't have to pay.. so I can't say it was worth the money..but it was very good.

This restaurant gets mixed reviews on these boards. In may trips, we have made a trip to Concourse only the past 2 - August 07 and January 08.

Our experience was good food, accommodating chefs, and an interesting menu. The fillet and the NY Strip were as good as the much touted LeCellier.

That said, the place, when we went, was poorly run: too long a wait (an hour wait after ADR time, and no available beepers), empty tables, disorganization and confusion at the front podium.

Once seated, those frustrations dissipated and we enjoyed courteous service as well as a great meal.

So I say - "GO BEFORE THEY CLOSE!" Enjoy!!

We will be eating dinner here two weeks from tonight when we arrive at the CR for our stay. Looking forward to it. The menu looks good.

My family and I have had dinner there two different times and on both occasions it was a great experience. So since this would be your last chance to eat there, I say go for it since you won't be able to after May 31.

If you want to watch the EWP you stand at the windows on the 4th floor behind the DVC info desk and look out into Bay Lake, since that is one location it goes threw when passing by the Contemporary.

ate there last in 2003. we thought it was really good all around. Chef mickey's noise can be a distraction but really liked the food. They threw in a special free dessert that was personalized for our 20th anniversry. I gave it thumbs up all around. A little pricey for sure but a nice experience. The mono over head was a nice mood setting.

We are very disappointed it is leaving. Cant even get a res yet for WAVE because it wont be open yet(june 14-21). so it is a lose-lose thing for us.

Ate at the Concourse Steakhouse last September - the food was delicious and the service impecible! I really hate to see it go...:sad1:

As for the Wave, I haven't seen an actual menu yet but the concept does not appeal to me in the least so I don't believe I'll be bothering with it.

cwt580,
On another thread about the Wave someone reported a rumour that they will be opening on June 1st and for the whole month of June they will only be accepting walk-in guests only.

If it's somewhere you want to try, you should go for it.

We went in Nov for dinner and were very dissapointed with it. My steak was overcooked, wings were dry, bread was hard and the server took FOREVER with everything even though it was not crowded.

BUT - the Key Lime Pie was good, it was neat seeing the monorail go by and yes, you can view the EWP from the Contemporary.

Hopefully, you will have a much better experience than we did. From the prior posts, maybe we were just there on an off night. :)

We have always had good meals there and will miss the Steakhouse.

Thanks, everyone! All the info was helpful, and I'm gonna call and see about an ADR!

My mom and I ate there in september we wanted to try it at least once before it closed and we were pleasantly surprised after reading mixed reviews. We thought the service was awesome, the food was great and we wondered what took us so long to try it! We were sad leaving knowing that it would close before we could dine there again!

Well when it was announced it would stay open until the end of May we called right away and booked it for our 1st night and can't wait!

We've eaten there a few times and only had one bad meal, the steaks for the entier party were overcooked, they redid everything and gave us a free desert. We're going back in three weeks for another meal before they're gone, they'll be missed.
