Our whole family is sailing next summer---Parents in law in a category 3---3 sons, wives and kids in category 4 cabins. The reservations for all 4 rooms are linked and paid for by the family in the category 3 room. My question is---when we check in at the pier do we all board together---or do the category 3 people leave the category 4's and go to the special lounge to wait and board? Since we are one large party can we accompany the category 3's to the conceirge area before boarding? Also---can the category 3's make palo reservations for a party of 8 before boarding---can they make spa or flounders reservations for category 4 people? Can they request the dining rotation for all of us? thanks! Jill

I don't think they'll let you wait or board with your in laws. It's not really a lounge area. If you've ever cruised before you know in the terminal that near the entryway there is a kind of circular window area with couches, if I understand, that is where concierge guests wait.

In regards to dining seating and Palo ressies, if you booked the cruise as a group you will be sat together, if not, then you can call DCL and request that your family be sat together. About Palo ressies, you can now make the ressies online @ DCL. Your inlaws should make them, since they are staying concierge they can make them 105 days before your cruise and can make them for the whole group. There is also a private dining room in Palo they may want to look into requesting.

Yes, you can wait and board with your relatives. We were in the Roy suite last year and had 5 other friends in various categories. We asked at check-in if they could wait AND board with us. No problem...we even all got our pic taken together!

We were in the Roy suite last year too and our family was allowed to board with us. It shouldn't be a problem. My family went with us to the concierge meeting ad they booked a few things for them without batting an eye.

Same experience here - we had Cat 3, our family had two Cat 4s. We all boarded together, and then the ladies went to the Concierge Meet while the guys took the kids straight to lunch, so we wouldn't troop 8 of us into Sessions to crowd up the place while we did our reservations. I would think that that evolution would be much quicker these days since on-line booking is available. If you are able to get a connecting stateroom to the Cat 3, that is fantastic, too - more or less turns it into a 2-BR suite and my parents loved it.
