Concierge

*Pre-trip planning with dedicated concierge CMs

*Lounge for concierge guests only that offers continental breakfast in the morning, light snacks during the day, hot and cold appetizers and wine and beer in the evening, desserts and cordials (Kahlua, Bailey's Irish Cream, etc) later in the evening. Some lounges are open all day and night and this allows you to grab a can of soda or some juice at any time; some of the lounges are only open during the appointed serving times.

*Robes for use during your trip

*Dedicated On-site CMs who will assist you with ADRs, show tickets, etc.

*Nightly turn-down service (this is available upon request also to any guest in any of the deluxe resorts, but is automatic when staying concierge).

*In some of the resorts, the rooms in concierge building or floor offer a "better" view or room location (this is not necessarily the case in all deluxe resorts AND often times the "better" view is a higher booking category = $$, but not always; each deluxe resort's concierge rooms are located differently within that resort).

*Access to the concierge lounge from the moment you arrive even if your room isn't ready yet, to the moment you leave on your last day, up until midnight of that night.

That's all I can think of for now... :scratchin

If you're considering concierge, which resort? I/We could give more specific info if we knew which resort you'd be staying at. :)

Edited to add:
If you're staying concierge at the Animal Kingdom Lodge you'd be able to book the Safari Sunrise excursion; if you're staying concierge at ANY resort you'd be able to book the Wildlife Discovery excursion.

A great perk of concierge is that if you buy something in the parks, they will deliver it to your room...yup, no waiting in the long lines at the gift shops at 10:00 at night with whiny kids...the packages are waiting in your room!!

It really depends on the resort. At the Polynesian you get many perks, but I've heard the Beach Club concierge is sort of a joke. :)

I thought this service was offered for any deluxe resort guest (regardless of concierge level)??

Your package will be sent to your resort, but you have to pick it up in the gift shop. This is true for all of the Disney resorts, value, mod, & deluxe :goodvibes

We've had fantastic service at BC & WL concierge and our worst Disney experience at Poly concierge. We planned a trip to BC concierge 1 month out and our concierge was able to get CRT for breakfast for me. Personalized autographed pics of my kids favorite characters were in our room waiting for us when we checked in and all sorts of little touches and extra "magic" the entire trip :goodvibes

How good is AKL?

We have done Concierge at AKL for the past two years and we love it. When we have gone we spend the whole day at the resort taking in the animals the lounge, activities, and the safaris that are available to the concierge guests.
The only downside to staying at AKL is that you are far away from everything else. That is part of the reason we only stay for the first couple days of our visit. The first year was more fun and this year was more relaxing. (Which is what we really needed) The first year DD and us went around and did all the activites that are offered at the resort like bead collecting, cookie decorating, food tasting, etc.
The first year we did the Sunset Safari and this year we did the Sinrise Safari. I forget if they are now offered to non-concierge guest, but thet were not before.
Like op have said already the CMs are very attentive and helpful in the lounge.

As I said before we only saty for the first couple days in AKL concierge and then have moved to another resort. Both times were very easy. AKL moves your luggage to the other resort and the transition was very smooth.

You can find more info on the Safaris at AllEars.net. They were both great and each ends in a meal. The Snuset ends in a dinner tasting at Jiko, which was the best food I have EVER had.

Sorry, I didn't mean the entire concierge experience; just the meals in the lounge... I don't know why that just screams concierge to me :rotfl2:

I was looking at resort prices and we can stay at akl concierge for the same price as the Poly so it made me wonder about what was the benefit of concierge. as my husband likes to remind I need to research every little option.:rotfl:
