I read so much about the concierge for families, but it will only be the two of us, my husband and myself. We have never stayed concierge, and have booked the Poly LVC for our December 1st anniversary (25 years!). Do you think it will be "worth it" for the experience? I have a AAA discount right now which brings the rate to 445.00 per night not including tax.

To be honest as much as I love the concierge level I have used it for just two people and I don't find it worth iy. I am fighting the feeling of doing concierge this November but when I am pricing I know in my heart it isn't worth almost $700.00 for 6 days and 5 nights. For that extra money we can pick and choose where we want to eat breakfast and not go cheap/ I think concierge benifits families with more then 2 people. Because you are going for your 25 anniversary if you can swing it DO IT, worth the experience and CONGRATULATIONS on 25 yrs, that's a long time. :D

Congrads on your Anniversary :bounce: :bounce:

IMHO...No, I dont think any concierge is worth it! Remember...nobody gives you something for nothing.
Ive travelled 40% of the time with my job, staying in Marriotts & Hiltons, using concierge's. When they are giving you a "hot" breakfast & "hot" tid bits @ night ie.. Residence Inn's, then its worth the "few" extra $$.
Get a refrigerator in your room...buy some Champagne, grapes, cheese & crackers.......and enjoy the quiet from your balcony!!!

Hey....you're from NJ??? Cool!!:hyper: :hyper:

Worth it is subjective. If you mean will you get the extra money's worth in snacks and such, no. But that's NOT what concierge is all about. It's more about more personalized service, a relaxing lounge, not having to wait in line to check in, etc.

Bottom line, if you don't mind paying for upgraded levels of service, then it might be for you. If you are trying to break even on food and beverage, then no, it's not going to be for you.

Happy ANniversary whatever you decide.

I agree with this 100%. We always stay concierge with the family, but I look forward to the day my wife and I can do it on our own. To get all the benefits if a concierge stay and really be able to sit back and enjoy it would be wonderful!

I think I would do it for my anniversary. Especially since it is the Poly and the concierge service there is supposed to be wonderful. Maybe some codes will come out for your dates:)
Think pixie dust...

look @ mousesavers.com for the codes that you will need to lower that price.

I agree with the above poster ducklite - will you get your money's worth NO - is it worth it maybe depends on what you are looking for.

DFH and I are staying at the AKL concierge for our honeymoon - DFH is in law school and so I am planning the wedding which will be in NY (we are currently living in MI) so it is a lot of traveling back and forth to NY and other planning, plus I am also planning our honeymoon as DFH is busy with his classes.

For us it was definitely worth it without question. The last trip I planned completely alone and we stayed in a regular savannah view (we were upgraded from standard after getting upgraded when POR partly closed) and I planned our PS's and activities all alone.

So for this trip with all the hectic things that are going on concierge was a blessing - they have made my PS's for me, gotten us ressies to Cirque, KTTK etc.

We figured between this and the fact that we will get breakfast and a few snacks (we don't plan on being around much for many of them though) that for us it was a good value even though MONEY wise we are spending more than we need to.

Since this is a big anniversary I would say take the plunge and go for it - so far they are already making us feel that this is a special trip - it would just be a little extra pampering which might make it a little more of a magically anniversary.

It is definately worth it! My fiance and I stay concierge everywhere we go. We do it for the extra magic and planning services. It's very relaxing to spend some time in the lounge and have a few drinks. I actually think it is geared more towards adults, at least at the GF and the BWI. Looking at the food offerings (wine and cheese, appetizers, etc.) it has a more adult tone. Not that kids wouldn't be welcome, because when we have kids someday, we'll stay still always stay concierge.

Thank you all for your input. I say...."Let's stay concierge... It's our 25th anniversary"!
