Concierge- what time do you show up at port?

When we were in Miami, we got there at about 10:15, the people manning the terminal were not letting anyone in who had a later PAT than 10:30. We were not the first ones in, but there were only a few families in front of us for the concierge check in. I know this is a bit different at POC.

That's the way it should be. Someone should be outside checking everyone's cruise documents for there PAT.

The terminal at Port Canaveral is large and the security lines go fast. There are lots of desks to check in so even if people show up early this won't slow you down. BUT it's the people that stand infront of the que blocking the entrance before their boarding # is called!!!!!

We live about 20 mins away and arrive about 10:45. Last Dream cruise we checked in and was escorted right on to the ship.

Still sounds like a goat screw to me. So all the people are doing that have a later PAT is slowing down the people with an earlier PAT by checking in before them? Sounds to me if you want less stress full show up later

I think you're overestimating the crowd and the time it'll take. And you're forgetting that any initial wait isn't going to impact when you get on the ship.

You would still have to stand behind people while those papers were checked. Would you rather stand behind people having their papers checked, with the inevitable explanation needed or argument or whatever, or would you rather just get into the building, since YOUR boarding time is still going to be BEFORE the boarding time of the people who got there too early?


You're going to be on that boat with a lot of people very soon, dealing with lines to meet Cinderella, lines to get into the movie theater, the main theater, the buffet (augh), etc etc... No need to start off feeling this way!


And the OP is truly apart from all of the waiting at the terminal, because they aren't even getting in the same line as the vast majority of the people who they will see at the terminal.

I would recommend you drop off the car at 10:30, and after passing security go to Concierge check-in--all the way down on the right. There will be few, if any people in line. Check in there takes just a few minutes. You will then be escorted to the Concierge waiting area. There are big windows there where you can see the ship, and you can go outside if you like. Come 11:15, you'll be one of the first ones on the boat. You will go up the the Concierge Lounge, meet the hosts, make any dinner, spa, or excursion arrangements you may still need, and then you can do what you want. Our luggage has usually arrived at our stateroom by the time we have finished there.

This week we arrived around 10:45, had no line to speak of through security, checked in and were on the ship almost immediately. Now, general boarding was on group 7, but I really think they were calling a new group every 1-2 minutes. It was a great experience for us and didn't require my 3 year old to wait.
