What does everyone do about tipping the concierge staff? What type of service do you consider beyond what they get paid for?
We have had a suite on 2 previous cruises and the first time oly 1 of the staff checked on us and he was wonderful. I believe we tipped him $50, not knowing what to do for an amount. Last year we just found them impersonal, always called and came to suite during our dinner so if you needed them you had to keep calling. Always got the impression we were putting them out with any question or request. We did not tip. We have a suite again this year and wonder what everyone else does. Thanks for the help.

I don't think you tip the concierge....I always thought that was included in your price when you book a suite. The only ones you tip are your food servers, room service, and your room host.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Have a great cruise! :)

Oh yes!! Tipping is expected, almost with open hands. We had a team of two for our cat.1 and had some issues to be dealt with so we saw them frequently. The best was when one of my sons locked himself(with his little brother) in one of the bedrooms and couldn't get out. No one had ever done this before, so we had everyone in the room trying to figure out what to do. They ended up taking the whole door off. Of course I had visions of us having to pay to replace the door and frame! They ended up with a nice bonus from us.

Travis, you are correct -- it is not necessary to tip Concierge. In fact, our team in May 2002 went out of their way to tell us "No tipping." HTH
