Concierge tipping 101

When staying in a regular room, we leave a tip for housekeeping daily. In addition to that, what is the tipping etiquette for stays in a concierge room? There are a lot of employees. Who do we tip and how much $$? Thanks for the help!

Hi. You won't have to tip much more than during any other stay...We left tips for housekeeping and also turndown in the evening. You don't tip the staff in the lounge...unless they were to do something really extra special. I mean, it just isn't like that... I'm a generous tipper but Concierge doesn't really add to the number of people you tip - just the usual valet, bellman, housekeeping. Enjoy!

what type of tip would you leave for housekeeping for 8 nights/4 people?

Are we expected to leave a tip for the concierge staff?


I have heard 1 - 2 $ per bag. Is this correct?

I don't subscribe to tipping concierge theory, however for outstanding service we do tip cash. I know alot of people bring gifts, and chocolates and candles etc. but its always been my contention that you can't pay your mortgage with "stuff".
