Concierge + SV/ 3 or 4 nights = confusion!!

You're only trying for one night? I think doing the Sunrise on the day of checkout would be hard. You'd really need to be out of the room before the Safari begins. When I did the Sunrise, we left KS about 9am and then walked to breakfast at Pizzafari. It would be next to impossible I think to finish breakfast, get a bus back to AKL and checkout by 11am. Well, at the least very stressful. But you could checkout and leave your stuff with bell services before the Safari.

BTW, I was wrong about Sunday night it appears. The Sunset Safari is only offered M,W, F and Saturday according to an email another DISser received from IPO. I'll fix my other post.

Difficult but doable. We did the Sunrise Safari on check out day from concierge, and it was no biggie. We had all of our stuff loaded in the car before we left for the safari, and we took a bus back to AKV from the breakfast and were on the road by 10:30. We had a 1 PM spring training game in Fort Myers, so we were cutting it close.

Have you heard of anyone doing the Sunrise Safari on the day of checkin? Our next stay there that would be the only day that would work. If it's doable, I think we'll stay the two weekend nights before checkin in a regular or club level AK room to make it easier to do the Sunrise.

No, not this trip- I think I'm flying down on Sunday and have to leave on Weds night because of a baseball tournament I think 2 of my sons will be playing in in DE Memorial Day weekend- we'll leave NJ on Thursday evening.

Too bad the sunrise safari is only 2 mornings a week- maybe we'll get lucky and they'll add another day before next May...

Yes, We have a studio concierge level for the first two nights so far. HOPEFULLY we will have it for the rest of the time too so we can do the sunrise safari. We can't come down Saturday night because I am picking her up at college and bringing her home on Saturday May 16th. She basically gets to do a load of laundry and pack to leave at 3 am on Sunday! Nice Mom huh! I really want to do the sunrise safari and it sounds like it will be Thursday morning. I would even be willing to move rooms if I can't get concierge all 5 nights as long as I have it for the safari morning!

I did get my 3rd night, but not in a 2 bedroom like I wanted. I ended up in a 1 bedroom. I think I had the slowest MS person ever. She just kept talking and taking her time. She had the 2 bedroom and by the time she got it in the system it said waitlist. She just could not understand why this happened. I had to tell her it is because there are only 5 rooms total and they go quick. Oh well, I have a waitlist for the 2 bedroom that may or may not come through. At least I have a room in concierge.

3 nights concierge! DONE!!! Sooo happy!!! How did you two do? Tinker, you won't be competing with me tomorrow morning for the studio, hope it helps!!! I almost lost it this morning, though- When the CM answered, he couldn't hear me!!! I think I hit my mute button on my phone, and for what seemed like FOREVER he kept repeating, "HELLO, MEMBER SERVICES". My worst DVC nightmare come to life! Maybe I'm psychic- I swear I knew SOMETHING was going to happen!! But it's all good in the end! Can't wait to meet you both!

I called MS back and got the rest of my nights added. So now I am in a 2 bd. 17th & 18th, a 1 bd. the 19th, and a 2 bd. the 20th21st, 22nd, & 23rd. I guess we will take our moving day to relax and hang out in the lounge or maybe go to Downtown Disney. The only worry I have is what to do with our luggage.

OMG!!! How can they not know what the deal is?!!! When I was calling I was rattling everything off so fast they were laughing at me- but really, how else are you going to get in? Then when it was done, they (the 1st day) said I got the last studio- and it was not even 9:01!!! Yeesh- hope they add more concierge somewhere!!!

No, not yet- I just called and it was available but I can't book it until tomorrow- it goes by the check-out date, which I forgot. It's all a learning process, though! And I do have enough points, I only need 45 for a 3 night stay during the week in a studio, which is what I'm after (can't really splurge for more at this point, especially without DH & kids, and my friend and I are just fine in a studio!).

But what is confusing to me is, she checked availability for the rest of the week and said there was none in concierge. How is that?!!! She said either they were booked by cash, or just have not been released. I hope it's the latter, because it would really stink if all the concierge rooms are rented out before DVC members even have a crack at them! I think I will call back in a little while to speak with someone else-

My guide told me that DVC only rents out 2% of the available nights for non-DVC reservations. In fact, they pull them back from there if member demand calls for it. Of course, they can't pull any in the 2% if already booked outside of DVC but how often is nothing available at SSR becasue they were all booked by cash payors??
