Can anyone fill me in on the specific concierge services provided at the Disneyland Hotel? I'm also interested in any experiences anyone has had -- did you feel it was worth the extra money?

We'll be spending three nights (en route to Hawaii - yippee!) and are wondering if we should splurge at DL or save our pennies for the islands.

Thanks very much!

What would you like to know? I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have.

It's convenient having the express elevator, it's nice having easy-access to *treats and snacks, and the lounge is a great spot for watching and hearing the fireworks show. The rooms on the concierge floor are large (though they might be the same size throughout the hotel?) and they have two queen-sized beds (and I believe most of the rest of the hotel has doubles?) It's nice to have someone to call on, if you want help with reservations on or off-property, if that's an issue. The view from the Sierra tower on the lounge side is also nice, if that's important. You can hear/see/enjoy Downtown Disney. At the same time, when it's time to snooze, the rooms (with sliding doors and drapes closed) are exceptionally quiet at night. Check-In is quicker, too.

It's a fun experience, but the cost *is* very difficult to justify.

*Breakfast: Lots of beautiful fresh delicious pineapple to prepare you for your trip!, melons, berries, etc. Breads/bagels/muffins/croissants. Cereals. Beverages.

*Noontime: Snack crackers, pretzels, nuts, sodas

*Evening: Wine, cheeses, crackers, salsa/chips. Cookies and other simple desserts.

*Anytime: Water, sodas

I have done the DL Hotel concierge many times, but it has been almost 2-1/2 years since my last stay there (however, I have vacationed at WDW at least 5 times since my last DL visit, go figure!). I am seriously considering a DL visit over President's week and just submitted a rate request to Dreams Unlimited (the mastermind behind the Dis website). Since there are now the Grand Californian and Paradise Pier hotels to consider, my vacation planning has become a little more complicated (I hate decisions!). Since all my DL Hotel concierge stays were always such a pleasure, I am leaning slightly towards another stay at that hotel. As TrlyScrumptious already pointed out, the rooms there are large. I am not sure if the GC and PP hotel rooms are quite as large (I'll have to check out their floor plans). And if the DL Hotel concierge service has stayed the same, I know that they will do their best to make my vacation a great one. Since I have not tried the other two hotels yet, I have no idea what to expect from their concierge staff.

The DL Hotel concierge lounge had a nice choice of food items for breakfast, snacks throughout the day, and wine & cheese offerings in the evening. Since TrlyScrumptious has stated exactly what I have experienced with that hotel in the past, that has made me very happy. I should note that I do not stay in a concierge room for the concierge lounge offerings, however, it is nice to know that if I've bopped back to my room during the day, I can always grab a quick munchie before I eat my meal in any of Disney's sit-down restaurants.

Hi Tigger & Belle! Concierge service can be added to any room type at the Disneyland Hotel, including rooms with daybeds. :)

Thanks Michelle! Next question--if a room has a daybed and can therefore sleep 5 is that 5 total or 5 plus a child under 3yo? We've been to WDW several times and there a child under 3 (or at least one child under 3yo per room) is not counted in the room totals.

With our family it can actually be cheaper to stay concierge depending on how much extra $ a night it is. Does anyone have an estimate on how much extra a night concierge is at the DL hotel? I'm sure that it depends on what time of the year, etc, but a ballpark would be good. We stayed at the Polynesian at WDW last year and paid $53/night more for concierge and more than made up for it in the food that my kids consumed. Growing kids!

Thanks, T&B

I really don't remember how much the price difference between a 'regular room' and a concierge-level room is. For our trip last June, concierge-level rooms were about $400 a night, so I think we'd be talking about something more like $100-ish more than regular room.

All of these posts have me confused. The comment that concierge service can be added on to any room . . . . I thought that concierge rooms were completely seperate, is that not true?

Is the only option for a truly concierge room 2 queen beds? Or do they have 1 king bed as an option?

My husband is a major soda drinker. Probably 8-12 cans per day. Is there a limit to how many one can have in a day?

How does cleaning service work, can you specify when you do or don't want it done? (In case we want to have a nap time back at the hotel)

Can you have concierge service for just one day (say if you are staying for 3 days and you want to just "try" it for one day for fun. Also if you can do this at DLH can you also do it at GCH?
