Concierge / RCI - 2012 ??

Hi,

I have banked my Dec 2010 points to use for a stay in NY in June 2012.

I have been wait listed now for about 3 months for any apartment in NYC through RCI, but so far no luck. I have also enquired about booking the Loews Regency through the concierge service, but this service isn't available yet for 2012.

Can anybody tell me if this is normal, or am I just being too impatient, and too organised?

Would I be better renting out my points, and renting an apartment direct?

For RCI it's extremely unlikely you'll be successful, I can't see for the CC but wouldn't be surprised if you strike out there either. If you still have your points (request first), then I'd start looking at renting. Now that BG controls part of the inventory at the Manhattan Club, it's even less likely to be available going forward that it has been in the past. That's not to say it's impossible so it'd OK to search up until the time you do something else. HIlton tends to deposist many properties more short notice, like 6 months out.

Thanks, I was searching against a 57 and saw nothing. Now we know why, all 58-60.
