Ok, I'm intrigued with this concierge stuff. We are planning a trip for the last week in September at the WL, and I feel certain we'll get a nice discount on the package. Should I book a concierge room? Or should I wait and see if I can an upgrade? Does that happen? And is that at no further cost? I would think if upgrades happen, this would be the time - the place was not at all crowded when we went in September last year. Finally, my kids will be 6 and almost 3. From what I hear about the concierge food layout - my kids will be able to eat almost exclusivlely from that.

if you do get an upgrade to concierge - i doubt it will come without a price. You will have to pay something extra each night...not sure exactly how much it would be though.

my DH and i could do 'breakfast' from the concierge every morning no problem - we are coffee and a muffin people anyway.

if you want your kids to exclusively eat from the concierge offereings though...they'll be eating PBJ, gummy bears, trail mix, and cookies the entire time. if i remember i saw chicken nuggets there once in a while...but definetly not something to live off of for a week.

My recommendation is book concierge if that is what you want. If you wait and try to upgrade at check-in, you might be disappointed.

Concierge offerings will vary depending on the resort. I wouldn't count on the offerings being a meal, although my DW and I are sort of like you -- a muffin or bowl of cereal for breakfast is sufficient for us. You may want to ask recent guests who stayed on the concierge level what was available at the resort(s) you are considering.

Depending on how many people are staying on concierge and stopping by the lounge (and the time of day), you may find food/snack availability will vary. I've read reports of food/snacks being g-o-n-e rather quickly on occasion. Just something else to keep in mind.

BTW - those food options I mentioned above (PBJ/gummy bears/etc...) were what I saw out when DH and I stayed at WL concierge back in September 03.

My $0.02, if you're even thiking about conceirge, look into a dream maker package. I've experienced that if you book silver or up in packages, you'll get bumped to conceirge without added cost.

WL Concierge offers the continental breakfast in the morning. Bagels, muffins, struedel, fruit, etc.

Snacks are sometimes gummies, pretzels, lemonade, iced tea.

5-7pm is usually one hot dish-white mac and cheese with pork, ribs, smoked sausage were some things offered while we were there. They also usually have a soup selection. Cheeses with crackers, marinated vegetables, special breads, etc. They always had pb&j uncrustables for the kids.

The desserts in the evening could include selections of brownies, cupcakes, magic bars, cookies, etc. They may even have a big dish of apple crisp or cobbler out.

We enjoy it. From what I read, it is going to be harder and harder to get as an upgrade at check in. We find concierge service to be very convenient, great for grabbing beverages or a snack.

Let us know what you decide.
