I have never sailed concierge before, going on fourth Disney cruise this November. We are looking to book one of the royal suites (Walt or Roy) for 2016. What are the perks? And more specifically, what are the perks to the royal suites (I have been researching quite a bit). I want to make the most of this once in a lifetime trip. (Traveling party consists of my parents, myself, my two boys (8+10). TIA

Just received confirmation from my TA. The Roy Disney suite on the Magic is ours!! I have so many questions as I have never sailed concierge.....Are there any laundry perks? (7 night cruise+2 boys=laundry)

You can ask, there are no advertised perks.

When you are in a Royal they bend over backwards for you so ask away.

When we had one, I recall things like.

We went to lunch inside in a MDR and they said a 45 minute wait, and we would share, we thought about going to the buffet but decided to wait it out, they asked for our room number. We had a table in a minute or so and it was our own and not shared.

Worth looking at my trip report below we had concierge on the Magic two weeks ago and I have lots of details on it, the Magic will have a concierge lounge from October. It will be deck 10 in the stack and have a private sun deck.

Don't forget about the Pillow Menu. We sailed concierge for the first time back in Jan with another Oct and Dec trip coming up. Of course we were in a "normal" concierge room and didn't get the pillow option. I think I might ask about it on our upcoming cruise to see if they will let us try one out. I am eternally in the search of the perfect pillow.

1. I can order dinner from Palo (for a fee) and/or from the MDR (no fee) ? Is this correct?
2. In my research some people have received arcade cards (was there a fee?)
3. Is a mickey bar stocked freezer only on Dream/Fantasy? Why not classic ships?
4. Unlimited soda and water (meaning complimentary?)
5. Is the menu for hot breakfast in-room dining different than the regular room service menu that I am used to?
6. Generally, what is complimentary in the concierge lounge? (I understand that the Magic will be getting one)
7. Is there normal, brewed coffee in my room? (not the stuff like in Cabanas)

2. In my research some people have received arcade cards (was there a fee?) Kids under 17 get a gift of this no fee.
3. Is a mickey bar stocked freezer only on Dream/Fantasy? Why not classic ships? No freezer on classics.
4. Unlimited soda and water (meaning complimentary?) Yes, just ask.
5. Is the menu for hot breakfast in-room dining different than the regular room service menu that I am used to? Yes, see my trip report first page it has a copy.
6. Generally, what is complimentary in the concierge lounge? (I understand that the Magic will be getting one) Food, and soft drinks coffee and tea and booze a set times only normally 45 mins pre dinner.
7. Is there normal, brewed coffee in my room? (not the stuff like in Cabanas) No.

We've had the luck of staying in both the Walt and Roy on the Dream and basically everything that we asked for...we got. The kids wanted juice in the fridge so they brought large carafes of orange and apple juice fresh each day. We wanted beer stocked in the fridge and they did it (additional charge for the beer of course). Mickey bars in the freezer. My only complaint regarding the Royal Suite was that they decided that they were going to strip down all of the covers off all of the balcony furniture to wash them during a port day. We don't get off the ship at all (other than Castaway), so when we returned from lunch, all of the outdoor furniture was bare cushions. I didn't complain but it definitely annoyed me because we spend so much time (especially when in a Royal Suite) out on the balcony and we were unable to sit out there for the entire afternoon. If you stay in one of the Royals...request that they do not remove the cushion covers during your stay.

Thank you DISNEY FANTASY. I did see the menu you posted on your trip report. It was helpful. I am shocked there is no Palo fee. Can I get regular coffee anywhere on the ship?

We had the pillow menu in a regular cat V room. Make sure you ask. I find pillows when I travel to be uncomfortable- at least for me- think Princess and the Pea. The pillows off the menu? They were heavenly... :thumbsup2

Thanks Lady of the Tramp, I'm emailing shoreside concierge asking about this now.

OP is asking re Cat R only.
I know but your original list before you edited it was wrong. Just wanted to make sure that other readers knew that the Palo benefit applied to another category as well. Just trying to be helpful.

So have I but I knew that was due to our relationship with our concierge. Cat. S though, is consistently included in the Palo delivery.
