Concierge on Dream

Andy was on Magic in fall 2018 last time we saw him. Said he had done enough island hopping in the Caribbean.

OMG you're kidding me?
Any chance then that Andy will still be there next year in September? No guarantees I'm sure - but how often do the concierge staff switch ships?

A cast member on the Fantasy shared that Andy and Ashley are onboard for Concierge.

Don't know about how often they switch but the Wish will add a twist to it.

Hi we were on the Aug. 13th-16th 3 night cruise in concierge. As concierge we did not have to pick a port arrival time but should have been told that we could not arrive until 1pm. I booked a town car service to bring us to the port we arrived too early and were turned away and told to come back at 1pm. Came back at 12:50 and they were letting vehicles in to drop off luggage and the all guest had to go to the testing tents even if vaccinated. They had to scan your QR code from safe passage. Print copies of everything. as the internet went down at port a couple of times. If you were using electric copy they had some trouble scanning. After that we were sent to the terminal for check in. New area at the bottom of terminal for check in, they scan your port arrival form and check your id's. Had lines for all different levels of castaway club members as well as first time guest and concierge guest. Easy if you have everything ready. Then up the escalators into the terminal. Staterooms were ready at 2-2:30pm. Concierge guest still had option of private lunch in Royal Palace. Concierge lounge had food, drinks etc. available all the time but had serving staff to get it for you. Was great. Concierge deck was never busy we used the hot tub by ourselves on the last day of cruise. Cast members all over the ship thanking us for cruising and were so happy to see and help the guest. It was an amazing cruise at reduced capacity. Never crowded anywhere on the ship. Safety protocols made us feel safe cruising. Food, shows, fireworks were great! We ate at Palo for both brunch and dinner. Brunch was still very good even though it has changed. We ate off the prefix menu for Palo for dinner. All the food was excellent. We were just so happy to be on the ship for a vacation. Castaway Cay/Serenity Bay was fabulous. We loved every minute of the cruise. Wish we were back on the ship right now.

I hadn't heard anything about Selina, so thanks for letting us know where she landed. She was part of the Concierge staff on the Wonder on a few of our trips. I know Glenn and Jose are on the Magic. Does anyone know if Guilerme or Rodrigo have landed anywhere?

Rodrigo is no longer with DCL. I haven't seen any updates on G.

No Andy? That gives me hope he will be on the Fantasy, yeah - yeah I know some of ya'll don't care for him - but we LOVE him.
Count us in the group that loves Andy! We've had him on two different cruises about 5 years apart and he remembered us.

We love Andy too! We’ve sailed with him 3 times, once on the Fantasy, twice on the Dream. He’s always so happy and really makes our trips special for our kids.

Given the number of folks on here I had seen complain about him, it makes my heart glad to know there are those on here who also love him as much as we do. And BTW we have no kids and he still made the trip really special for two old women. :)

Just back from our trip. yes sun deck, lounge and room service dinner were available. Our stateroom host Byron was great, came in on the last night and spent 30 minutes showing the kids how he does the towel animals. Our arrival time was strictly enforced, we showed up at at 12:30 since we had called Disney and they told us any time after 11, but we were told to come back after 1pm.

How is the open bar working? Can you still just go in and order what you would like? Is it still 5 to 10?

Energy, Energy!! Had Danny, Andy and Ashley on Fantasy in Dec 2019--an amazing trio! I was told that the lounge was restricted to 23 people at a time by Shoreside when I wrote to them after the new protocols came out. That seemed reasonable.

Does anyone know if you can request a specific host the way you do with servers?

Did you need a PAT? I’m hearing mixed information.
No PAT required, just couldn't show up until after 1pm when the garage opened, but I hear now they are moving that up 2 hours to 11am. All the non-Disney port employees had no information about concierge which made things difficult.

The concierge hosts work as a team. There are typically 3 of them on a sailing. No way to request a specific host.

This. Especially if the one you want is on a different ship. They aren't going to say "Hey, we know you're on the Dream, but we have a guest scheduled on the Fantasy who wants you, so we're changing you for that week." ESPECIALLY now with the quarantine requirements for crew. Similarly, if your special host is due to go or already on their vacation, they aren't calling them back for a week or extending them by a week.
