concierge level ?

Okay. This is from someone who has stayed at the concierge level at the Grand Floridian, Yacht Club, Polynesian, and who plans on staying at the concierge level at the Animal Kingdom Lodge later this year. With the provisio, that the last time he stayed at the convierge level was four years ago at the Polynesian. And this is what he remembers.

(1) Express check-in and express check-out.
(2) Complimentary continental breakfast in the morning.
(3) Afternoon and evening snacks.
(4) A concierge desk that offers reservation and information services.
(5) Restricted access (At least at the Grand Floridian and Polynesian)
(6) Nightly turndown services
(7) And package shipping, if you pay for the cost of the shipping.

Afternoon and evening snacks does not really describe it, since one can make a meal out of it, if one is not too particular.

The package shipping was particularly useful, as I was going on a Disney Cruise after the vacation at Walt Disney World, and I didn't want to take everything I had with me on to the cruise ship.

I would like to add that there are two types of concierge service at the Grand Floridian. One is offered in what I call the main building, and the other is offered in Sugar Loaf Key. Having experienced both of them on two separate occasions, I prefer the concierge service in the main building.

And let me check some other information I have on the concierge level, and if I can add anything to what I have already posted, I'll post it.

I knew there was something I had forgotten.

Twelve years ago, when we stayed at the concierge level at the Yacht Club, there was a minibar in the room, which we made use of.

And eight years ago, when we staued at the concierge level at the Sugar Loaf Cay at the Grant Floridian, there was a free newspaper each day. Though, I don't remember whether it was the Orlando "Sentinel" or the "USA Today." I never read it, because, when I go to Walt Disney World, I want to escape from the real world for a time. So, I left it on the table in the lobby of the entrance to Sugar Loaf Cay.

Of course, I don't know whether neither one is still standard at any of the concierge levels at any of the resorts.

And, of course, that is Sugar Loaf Cay and not Sugar Loaf Key, as I posted in my previous post.

TexasKid's info is very accurate!

just be warned....once you have concierge....
YOU'RE SPOILED !!!!!;)

TexasKid.....we've done the AKL concierge three times, and I guarantee you are in for a big treat!
They have this cappacino/latte/expresso machine that is out of this world!!!!

We've always been treated like royalty at WDW concierges.
Gives your WDW vacation that extra touch!::yes::

Just stayed concierge level in the HRH as well as the Wilderness Lodge in October...

The service is better, lots of little extras like newspapers, free use of a mini-fridge and turn-down service. Also, service is much more personalized - quick check in and out and basically anything you need during your stay just ask the concierge on duty and they are usually more than happy to get it for you. They recovered some priority seatings that were lost and got them back at the last minute for CRT (the day before).

There is restricted key-card access to the Concierge level, continental breakfast, snacks & drinks during the afternoon, evening hors d'oevers & drinks (including a few hot items - we made this dinner once or twice), and then later in the evening there is dessert.

We also had any issues that came up taken care of very quickly - and we did have one or two...

But it's true, once you go concierge, you are definately spoiled!

I would not stay at the HRH again - I'm not impressed with their idea of service but the Wilderness Lodge was phenomenal!

I've stayed at a few concierges myself.. Once you have experienced it you are hooked.

If price was no object which is your favorite?

If price was an object which would you choose for the value?

Is it worth it for the Swan Concierge after you have done the Disney concierges or would you be disappointed?

As a regular Concierge Guest.... DON"T DO THE SWAN CONCIERGE.. and expect it to be ANYTHING like the Disney Concierge.. this is from VERY recent experience... It is just not the same... there are VERY limited hours at Swan/Dolphin Club Level... they only have Morning 7-10 and evening 5-9? The Big difference for me was that Disney Concierge is all day for beverages at least...they usually have juice/water/fruit/cookies out all day.. and a CM on duty ALL day.. from 7 am till 10 pm... so.. when you come back to the hotel in the afternoon for a break.. you can grab a drink.. and a piece of fruit or cookie to go sit by the pool.. that is the service I am accustomed to.... Although.. I will say that the Staff at the Swan club level were Fabulous.....very sweet and helpful... it was the hours that I was disappointed in... AKL concierge is THE BEST!!! no comparison... The staff there used to man the Concierge at the POLY but were moved over when AKL opened... to get it up and running... soooo essentially.. AKL took the best of the POLY with them.. I haven't been to the POLY Concierge in a few years now.. but the first time I stayed there after the AKL opened.. I was VERY disappointed.. and moved over the AKL during my trip.... Although I agree that AKL is not very conviently located.. Concierge there is sooooo wonderful.. it is worth the extra time to get to the parks.... and the sunrise safari was Amazing!!!.. This year I am booking WL concierge to try it out....... but I am still torn and GUILTY that I am not staying at AKL!! LOL!!.. But I do like to try new things... and have also stayed at some moderates... which I think are also great... just no Concierge.. but ALL vacations don't get good rates for Concierge.. and I am NOT Donald Trump!! LOL! LOL !LOL!!! Soooooooooo I really have stayed just about everywhere EXCEPT allstars.. I will never do that.. I will stay DTD before I do that.. those rooms are just too Motelish for me.... and I have NO kids.. sooooo it just doesn't work for me... if I did have kids.. I would stay there though... it is perfect for them.. they would love it!! Anyway.. I have rambled enough for now.. any questions.. just ask!!
