Concierge Level with Food Allergies?

My DD has peanut and tree nut allergies... we've never done concierge level before because of this. However, with the Poly construction, I'm afraid that CL will be the only way to guarantee her a castle view. Does anyone have any experience dealing with CL and food allergies-- esp. the Poly?

Thanks!

We have not done the Poly but generally they aren't equipped to do a great job with food allergies. The food comes from a chef they can't reliably get into contact with so the desserts were all off limits due to possible nut cross contam. They had pieces of fruit and drinks always available. The apps had more possibilities--again fruit, veggies, and then cheese and crackers. The snacks were things like goldfish, chips, gummi candies and I think they were all safe and they were able to bring me some from the back others hadn't served themselves from because there were also nut cookies served at the same time. Breakfast they brought me cereal from the back because the dispensers weren't always used for the same cereal (I have more than nut allergies so that might have been the reason for that), fruit was fine, and I couldn't have the pastries. I asked them on each stay about stocking a few packets of allergy safe cookies or chocolate and they weren't able to or maybe during change of shifts where it was kept was missed. The other issue to consider is that they usually leave a chocolate welcome gift in the room that is not safe either. I was fine because I had low expectations but for a child you may want to come prepared with extra treats.

Thanks for the info! I usually bring safe food with us and order from Garden Grocer as well. My CL thoughts are more to guarantee a castle view for my soon-to-be 8 y.o. DD. Just trying to determine *how* worth it it is!

We just got back from 2 weeks at the yacht club club level. Talk to the chef when you check in. They can page a chef to talk to you. They ended up stocking a pastry for beakfast and dessert for DS daily. We had to ask for it and they would go in the back to bring one out. Then during hot appetizers, we had to talk to the staff in the lounge and they would call the chef who would send something up for him. It meant waiting between 10 and 30 minutes if they had to make something separate, but it was nice. Most of their lounge offerings nuts were not an issue, it was his other allergies.

We've stayed Poly CL several times and we've had nothing but spectacular experiences. IPO was useless (they told me to order groceries) but the chefs in the lounge made sure that we were well taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate to stay club level again at Poly.

Here's something totally not allergy related to think about. The CL lounge has an amazing view of the castle and is a great place to watch Wishes and EWP. Is the view of the castle from your room worth the huge increase in price? When staying CL you have access to that lounge. They even dim the lights and pipe in the music during Wishes and EWP. I get that for some people it really is worth the extra which I'm in no way knocking. I'm just making sure you've considered the option of cheaper CL room and taking advantage of the lounge.
