What special things have you had the Concierge team do for you? We're staying in a Cat. 3 on the 4 day Wonder 4/11/04 - and would love to hear your ideas and experiences from past cruises!

Thanks!

I really didn't have them go out of their way for me...

...except one time, when I tried to get last minute reservation at Palo's and was told at the Palo's desk that they were "booked solid", Concierge was able to get me a table with no problem.

I was especially wondering about things like getting the pillowcases signed.... things like that...

I am offended that you did not ask me this question.:p Just kidding.::yes::

When we had our Cat 3 last year we loved it. I am sure you know about all the basics like setting up everything for you and bringing treats every night. They also checked on us every evening to see if we needed anything and gave us an itinerary for every day showing all reservations and excursions.

They had our pillow cases signed and returned to us. And one of the best things happened on Thursday evening (next to last day of cruise). I spotted someone having the photo frames signed by the captain and they also had signatures from the characters. I thought this was a great idea, but knew we would not be able to accomplish it in one day. So I called the concierge staff and ask if we bought the frames could they get it done and they said no problem. We had them by Friday evening in time to pack.

Everyones experience seems to differ with the concierge staff but we loved it and have decided we will not cruise without it. But that is just us.(We tend to like those things and do not mind paying for them.) I do think the concierge staff will try to accomplish just about anything you ask them, within reason.

I would let you know about the Cat 1, but it would not do you much good since you will be on the Wonder the next day. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks Leilani....... No offense meant in not asking you! :teeth:

I love the picture frame idea - just the type of thing I was looking for....

We're also trying to figure out a way for DD9 (Lauren) to find out about the 10 day cruise while we're on board - we've almost let out the surprise many times.... and as a matter of fact - I slipped and told her we'd be in a Cat. 3 for this cruise........

Thanks AGAIN!

NOW I get to be offended! ;) :p

Anyway, ask one of the team members (concierge) to send DD a card inviting her to join Mickey & Pals on the Christmas cruise. They gave my kids each cards with a photo of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Hook, etc on Castaway Cay. On their birthdays, the card was signed by the characters & said Happy Birthday, and the 2nd cruise it was signed and just said something like "Glad you could join us".
See if they'll send one to the room with an invite!

I don't know how it works on the 3 and 4 day cruises but on the 7 day after you board you go straight to Sessions Bar. The concierge team is there waiting for all concierge level guests. That is when you sign up for any dinner reservations for Palo, teas, spa treatments, excursions, galley tours, bridge tours, children's programs (they even have the pagers there), hair braiding. There are time slots blocked out for the concierge levels. We were able to have our daughter's hair braided (entire head) the first full day at sea. I noticed the next day there were sold out for appointments! It came in handy to go to Sessions and do it all there.

Virgil - I think Stacey has a great idea with the cards. Maybe we might do that also. The only thing is we are taking DD's friend on this cruise but not the Christmas cruise, so I don't want to make her feel bad. The picture frames we had done were great. They are the blue fold out ones and the characters and Capt. signed around the silver mat. We had 3 of them done. They did the birthday card for my DD last year also.

LeiLani,
They can still give one to your DD's friend.....kind of a "Thanks for sailing with us", or whatever. As long as she gets a card with the pictures and autographs too, she shouldn't feel too bad.
