Concierge for Christmas

My family (2 adults and one 6 year old) has decided that this is the year we will finally stay concierge level at one of the delux hotels for Christmas. The problem is we can't decide which one. I've pretty much ruled out WL (not my favorite hotel by far) but beyond that I just don't know. I also want to make sure that the hotel has nice holiday decorations -- I know trivial but important to me -- and room for the Christmas Tree that I bring from home (it fit in AKL and CB). Any suggestions?

Hi MinnieSummer

What a really nice idea, deluxe concierge at Christmas time. That would be awesome. My first choice (forgetting about money) woud be the Grand Floridian. Mmmm hmmm a nice classy victorian Christmas. After that I'm not sure but probably either the Poly or the Contemporary. I'm curious though what the AKL would do for Christmas.

Have a great trip!!

The Boardwalk Inn is supposed to be beautiful at Christmas time. We are staying at the Poly concierge at Christmas because the kids begged because they liked it so much last trip. The Grand Floridian would be nice too, I am sure!

I can sympathize with you, so many great choices! I first picked WL, but wasn't thrilled about my choice because I know we'll be over at Epcot quite a bit. I kept going back and forth and finally chose BWI. It has great reviews and for us, the perfect location between Epcot and MGM. If MK was my main park, I would go with GF first and WL second.

We stayed on the 12th floor limited concierge at the Contemporary this past Christmas season and really enjoyed it...we had a view of the castle!! We went to The GF for a character dinner and enjoyed the decorations and Gingerbread House- magnificent!

I am thinking of doing concierge for christmastime, not Christmas. Probably early Dec. I am wondering who to go with as well. I have been on these boards a lot though and have heard most of the people that like WL like AKL and vice versa so you might not like AKL. If money isn't a factor I would stay at the GF with BWI a close second. I have heard the deluxe rooms are very large at BWI - you can see a view on allearsnet - the room has a sitting area and 2 tv's etc... there is a perfect spot for a tree there. I like the proximity of GF but if you like Epcot and MGM more then do BWI. Also - I think the CR's 14th floor rooms will be remodeled by then. I heard they start in June. That might be a nice alternative too.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. We actually have stayed at AKL during the holiday season (not concierge) and loved it. The decorations were beautiful and you really can't beat waking up to a giraffe right outside your room. So that's still a possibility. I know my husband is really pushing for GF but I just don't think the cost of concierge there is within our budget unless there are some great AP/FL resident rates out. I'm leaning toward the BWI and my daughter is voting for AKL or GF. The more I look into the various hotels the more confused I get. The new photos of the remodeled rooms at the Contemporary look awesome but I still don't think that they decorate the hotel for the holidays with quite the flair that they do the other hotels -- the same goes for the Poly. As for location, I never really consider that when booking a hotel because I don't mind Disney Transportation. Can you really walk to MGM or Epcot from BWI? That might be interesting. Also, does the Boardwalk itself have any special events at Christmas? Carolers? Storytellers? Santa? Characters? Anything? Help me please.
