Concierge floor rate

After reading about the concierge floor at WL, I'm considering modifying our reservation from the standard room to concierge floor room. Considering how my children eat, I might just break even on a per day cost if they simply eat the food offered in the lounge (i.e. bagels/muffins/juice/choc. milk for breakfast and PBJs for dinner). My question, that I can't seem to find the answer to is this: when a special comes up (we are visiting late Sept/2004 so I anticipate a good special to come as has historically), will I be able to get a reduced rate on concierge?

Hi - My DH and I had a conceirge room last year at AKL at a reduced rate using a code. The CM had to call someone to have the room 'released' in order for him to book it for me. A friend of mine called for WL concierge using a code and was told no, that conceirge rooms were not available with a code. She hung up the phone & called back 5 minutes later and the CM booked the conceirge room with the code for her. My recommendation is that if you are told no, try again later. It seems to take extra work and time to book a concierge room using a code so my guess is that some CM's don't want to go to the trouble.

We had the same experience as Sherry. I called to change our WL resservation to concierge level and was told it was full. We were using a disney club discount. I was so disappointed. Then I called back the next day and the CM booked it for me with the code. I mentioned that I was relieved that a room had become available, and the CM said that concierge level wasn't even near to being sold out. We loved it. CL was really nice and worth the money in our opinion. Have a great trip!
