Hi. We will be sailing concierge in April on the Fantasy. I am debating decorating our door. I know that due to the veneer the magnets have to be the super strong kind. First do people decorate in concierge? And if so where do you all find your magnets. I would like to have one made in the shape for each person's favorite character if that is possible. Looking for any and all ideas. Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks.

People rarely decorate in Concierge. I can count the number of times I've seen it in four different Concierge cruises on one hand. Etsy is a great source for magnets. You might have to add more magnets to make them work, though. Our strong rare earth magnets that we use to display tickets, etc. on the closet door or walls barely stuck to the outside door when we needed to leave a note for a friend.

Yes, some Concierge guests decorate their doors. The magnets that work best are the neodymium magnets. You can find them at most hardware stores, Target, WalMart.

There are many people on the Creative DISigns board who do images you can download and print. https://www.disboards.com/forums/creative-disigns.105/

There is also a thread here on the Cruise Board that has designs available. https://www.disboards.com/threads/l...please-read-post-1-before-requesting.3322275/

I️ love the idea of using a magnet to display tickets in room! Wow

We actually keep everything in chronological order this way. As we get through a day, we remove that day and move everything up. It's the only way we can keep up with all the tastings, etc.

On our most recent Fantasy trip (which was only 2 weeks ago but seems like a year) we were in 11002. There was ONE door decorated in that entire hallway.

Granted we've only done three concierge cruises but we never saw a single door decorated. We loved our first non-concierge cruise. We had different decorations every day for our door and loved our fish extender gift exchange. But for our upcoming forth concierge cruise we'll forgo the decorations again and just wander the lower level and admire all the hard work and creativity others put into their doors.

In our 5 Concierge cruises ( Dream) I have not seen any doors that were decorated. Personally, I think it looks better without.

The neighbors on our last Fantasy cruise used double sided tape to hold their door decorations. That seemed to do well and lasted the whole cruise.

Our concierge cruise in October 12 doors were decorated for Halloween and some were super cute. I will say that a lot of the items were falling off because the magnets or the tape wasn’t strong enough to hold. Yes, I know tape or sticky stuff is not allowed but people used it anyway and concierge didn’t say a word.

Not a concierge girl, but...

I did this for my 12-night Med/Venice cruise in summer 2016. Never having been on a 12-night before I wanted to make sure I kept everything straight. It worked well.

I think my friend and I will do it on our 7-night Greek Isles cruise this coming summer where we'll each have our own set of magnets as we're not forcing the other to do the same excursions - we might, but we don't have to. I think it'll make things a LOT easier to keep track of.

I'm surprised they were allowed to do this. I always understood that adhesive anything wasn't permitted.

Well, there is asking and being given permission - no indication in the post that they did that - and there's doing it and either getting caught or not.
