Thinking about upgrading to the Concierge level at DL. Is it worth it, we don't plan on eating a whole lot, but could you make meals out of it for breakfast and lunch?

How much of a cost difference will it be for you? How many are in your party? If there are 2 of you, it is doubtful you'd get your money out of it. If there are 5 of you, then probably yes!

We have not had DLH concierge (reserved it but got moved over to GCH concierge when DLH had to do work on their lounge :goodvibes), but based on our experience with GCH concierge I will give my opinion.

We used the lounge all the time. My kids LOVED it. It was open all day, not just at certain times, so it makes it really nice when you want to stop in for a quick snack and/or beverage. You can take as much with you as you like. There are things to use for lunches and breakfast--at GCH, we had a really nice breakfast layout and lunch ("tea") was even better. They had several kinds of cool little sandwiches, lots of fruit, Uncrustables, veggies, etc. There were goodies, too. There are hot hors d'oeuvres in the evening that could easily have been dinner for us but we went out anyway :rotfl:

Now, part of the reason we used the lounge so much was because my 77-year-old mother was with us and she gets tired easily. Also, we had been to DL a few months prior so the urge to go on all the rides as quickly as possible wasn't there. My girls loved being able to go to our own "private" retreat and hang out. The idea of unlimited snacks (at least that's what it was in their minds) was incredibly alluring to them. They liked meeting other kids, playing games, and so on there.

But is it worth an extra $150/day or whatever? Would you save that much on food and is the convenience worth it? For a family, maybe. For a couple or small family, I doubt it.

It is just the two of us and it would be an extra 125 a night, which would not be worth it as we have ressies at Goofy's, BB and don't need that much food. Thank you for your input though.

Yeah, with that difference it's hard.

We did stay at DLH concierge, but we used DVC points...our wallets didn't feel the difference. Made it easier.

Breakfast they always had bagels, pastries, cereal. Coffee (either in to go cup or simple china), tea. The small Dasani water bottles that you could take to go. minute maid apple juice boxes, and sodas. Fruit! Granola bars.

Lunch...Uncrustables, which, if you eat those it's possibly cheaper than getting kid's meals in the park..we don't eat them, they're full of junk (read ingredients! we were so surprised). Goldfish crackers in the same sort of container that they had cereal in with paper cups to take to go.

They set out an hors de ouvres thing beforeish 5...always had a hot appetizer thing in a chafing dish, I don't know how it was b/c it always had meat in it (we're veggie), there were cheeses and crackers and bread, more fruit. And beer or wine! Woo! That was nice. :) Of course, it meant we had to not be in the parks to have it...but still, better than a $6 Blue Moon over in DCA, right?

Then they cleared that and set out desserts and coffee/tea/cocoa again.

They also have DVD players in the rooms, and you can check out 2 movies at a time (for 1 day I believe) for free (or rather, included in the rate) and that was nice. Got to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua twice that way, fun movie! Wouldn't have seen it otherwise. :)

You can be in the lounge for the fireworks...they open the windows so you don't get the glare and it's a nice, but far away, view.

OH, and they also have games you can check out. We played a fun Magic Kingdom game that was sort of like Life in a way. :goodvibes

But like I mentioned...it takes you away from the parks, if you want to get "your money's worth".

Oh I forgot one last thing.

The concierge lounge is in ONE tower. Staying concierge, you are not guaranteed to be put in that tower. We got lucky, we were only a floor away, so it was absolutely simple to run up and down, snagging coffee etc etc.

But if your'e put in another tower, it's not so easy.
