Concierge Collection

Who has used the west coast resorts in the concierge collection? Are they hard to get? I would need two rooms...likely for June??

We are pre-planning a visit to CA in 2015.... a one night stay at Del Coronado would be a dream come true for my parents who would be with us..

Or... the Fairmont in San Fransisco could be cool too...

If I need 2 rooms at a time(8 of us)...is the $95 fee total or $95 per room? How far out in advance would I make the reservations? I call member services I assume to make the reservations? Am I big time dreaming or could it work out?!

I'm looking to do Hotel Del for 2014 and MS told me to call 11 months out to book. I guess whether we are able to book will depend on whether the new points charts are out at that point. I've stayed at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC and it was great! I can only imagine that the Del and Fairmont will be equally so.

The fairmont is farther away from Union Square, so it runs specials sometimes which may be a better value than using your points. Check TRAVELZOO, they usually list great SF hotel specials.

We stayed at the Fairmont for our anniversary and it was amazing! Our room had a panoramic view of the bay. It was a "signature" room. The hotel is beautiful and has so much history. We would walk down to Union Square in the morning and catch a cable car up the hill in the evening. Definitely worth it!

If you can plan in advance that would be great. We were able to book our rooms in April for August. We enjoyed all of our west coast cc stays.

Follow up question about using the points....

The trip would be June 2015 (during my 2014 use year)... I would be using both Dec. 2014 and Dec. 2015 points... But I would be calling July of 2014 which is during my 2013 use year! It will all work out right? I've never booked anything but DVC resorts on points so I want to make sure it's the same process.

The Concierge Collection and points chart for 2015 probably won't be released until late in the year 2014. Each year it is released toward the end of the year. We run into this problem each year and can't book our summer trip until December once that is released. This may give you a better idea as far as planning if you need to bank or borrow points for your June 2015 trip. Also keep in mind many resorts have been added and deleted throughout the years from the collection so keep that in mind as the trip is two years from now. I hope it works out for you.

We always have to get two rooms but only pay the $95 once at the time we book. We took our parents once also and it was the same, $95 once at the time we booked all three rooms.

If you book multiple rooms at the same time for the same place it should be one $95 fee. We did this when we booked two cabins on a single cruise.

Tell the CM up front you are booking two rooms and it should not be a problem.
