has anyone traded their dvc points for this resort? if so, can you tell me about the $35 complimentary breakfast voucher thing? is this a one time thing? or for each day of your stay? tia!! :flower:

I've never traded in to the Fairmont (or stayed there), but I used to live in SF and wanted to point out that the Fairmont is not walking distance from Union Square shopping or near the trains to Fisherman's Wharf.

It is in a really beautiful area near Nob Hill and is walking distance to Grant Street in Chinatown and North Beach. I also don't remember it being close to any BART or MUNI underground station, just the MUNI buses. The MUNI buses are rather slow if you take those around the city.

Just FYI, in case being "centrally" located matters to you. It's a little bit harder to get to than most hotels in SF. It's best to take cabs or to have a car if you're staying in this area (but parking fees are outrageous in SF).

We stayed at the Fairmont and we loved it! It is a beautiful hotel and very luxurious. I don't know about the breakfast option you are talking about but I would definitely stay there again. The view form our room was amazing! We could see from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz. We got the "Signature" room.
We walked downhill to Union Square and it is only about 4 or 5 blocks. The cable cars go right by the hotel so we would usually jump on one to go back up the hill. We had no trouble using the public transportation and got a city pass which included all types of transportation. I thought the location was great and the city is a great place to visit. We will stay there again if we get the chance to go back. You can PM me if you have any questions.
Have fun!
