Do the CM's clear the plates, utensils etc at the Innkeepers Club Lounge or is there a receptacle so the guests can clean up after themselves? I've read that it varies from resort to resort. TIA

I would think its like GF, BC and Poly where your suppose to clean up after yourself but for some reason ppl act like they are at a restaurant and let the CMs do it? Never understood that?

At WL, there was a receptacle, which was great! At YC, there wasn't and every time I got up with my empty dishes, a CM would rush over and grab them from me. They did that with everyone. It was sort of awkward. I'd rather have a receptacle. :confused3

I think some of the differences are probably due to space. They are all configured differently. I agree, though, it's nice when they have a place for dishes.

Great I would rather dispose of my own plates etc. than just getting up and leaving them. :thumbsup2 Thanks All :)

We feel the same way. I know the CMs are there to serve us, but I wish they would have a place where we can put our plates, etc. to help them out.

I can't speak for BWI, but they do not have a place for the guest to put dirty dishes at BC or YC. WL lodge does, but the cm's are usually walking around picking up stuff. I would ask on the BW thread also.

Agreed. I felt bad leaving plates for them to clean up, but every time I asked, that's what they said to do. Granted Regatta is very small, but you'd think they could create at least a little place off to the side where guests could put dirty dishes. Even my kids asked me, "shouldn't we clean up before we leave"?

We have been here at YC CL since Friday. This is our first CL stay. We have enjoyed it. The one thing I have to say is that every CM I have seen that deals with taking plates, & putting out the offerings have been nothing but nice. I honestly feel bad for them during apps because all they do is run back to the kitchen area with a smile on their faces refilling the food offerings. And it's a consistent flow back and forth. They have been nothing but kind. I'm not going o get into the agreement over who takes too much or not enough. All I have to say is those poor cm's work really hard during those high flow times. We have been taking the food back to our rooms so I can't comment on too much of what others have done and honestly I really don't care. I'm here to enjoy my stay here with my family not nit pick what others do.

Amen! Well said! Those CM's really do bend over backwards in CL.

Hi All:
I just upgraded our Boardwalk reservation this morning from Standard to Deluxe - Club Level. This is our first time staying Club Level and I have a couple of questions.

1. I see from earlier in the thread that some people are picking specific rooms at this level. Will someone from Disney contact me? Do I need to call someone to request a room? Are certain rooms better than others?

2. Is it customary to tip the CMs working in the Innkeeper's Lounge? We typically leave a few dollars each day for housekeeping but wasn't sure how it worked with the club attendants.

THANKS

Hello all!

I just booked my boss in CL - Pool/Lagoon view for BC on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He wants very close to International Gateway and a full balcony...any suggestions on Room location?

I really wouldn't stress too much about room location. We were in YC CL overlooking the pool and walked the path to Epcot in under 10 minutes. BC is the closer resort of the two, so his walk is already a few minutes shorter than mine. Specific rooms for him will differ by seconds now, not minutes given how short it is to begin with.

I can't speak to BWI, but at YC, the club CM's turned down gratuities that I tried to offer them.

No tips, but we always bring them some candy for the lounge cast. They put it in their break room to share.

The problem comes from guests taking so much of the offerings not thinking about the other ppl in the lounge or making their way to the lounge to eat as well. It's not fair to the other guests...

Goodness, this canard has been rehashed in my absence again.

Just back. I admit, I momentarily contemplated this while we were there. Thinking about this while at WDW reinforced my opinion that worrying about what other folks ate is beyond silly. Let me count a few ways...

First off, who paid rack vs. 30% off? That's $150/day! How many rolls is $150/day? What about guests in the $2000+/day 2bdrm suite? How many extra rolls does $2000/DAY buy?

Second, CL is a 'flat rate'. Should a family of four eat 1/4 the food a solo guest eats?

To determine anything, IMO, you'd have to follow the other guests from check-in to check out, otherwise you can't assume much of anything.

Maybe they only ate 'appetizers' two days of ten. Skipped breakfast? ($13 per adult/day) Skipped wine ($7+ per glass in the bar)? Was their food bread ($4 a loaf) vs. lobster salad ($30+ per pound)? (BC)

Did you confirm they ate 'full' portions at the buffets like non-CL guests do? They paid just as much.

I love CL, and this was the most laid back trip we ever took. We were at WL for four nights: two park days, plus 1/2day in TL. Even still, we missed at least half the food periods. I can't imagine anyone going to WDW and spending an entire week in the lounge. They'd miss everything else at WDW! Very sad.

Beyond that, leftovers get tossed! Meanwhile, staff asked us multiple times if they could get us more to drink. They also replenish food trays as needed. The only time they don't is the end of offering periods. Even then, they are usually willing to get you almost anything you request duing their hours. Staff has told me that on every CL visit.

Shall I continue?

People in the lounge are NOT using buses, boats, or attractions. Gas is $3.50 a gallon... How many times per day can guests use the free boats? Toilet flushing? Showering? Shampoo? How many newspapers and extra park maps did he grab? Should we penalize the little kid who takes a fresh map every day even though dad's got a smartphone?

How many hours per day are guests allowed to use park tickets? How many rolls do you give the guy who pays for a park ticket he didn't use? Or only used for one how between food offerings?

The variables are just too complicated, IMO.

another question...BC has a separate CL correct? I know that seems like a silly question, but when I have stayed at YC/BC ..they seem to flow together so much, I just wasn't sure. Is the BC Club level offerings located above the lobby?

The club level is on the 5th floor right off the elevators. I guess you could say it's right above the lobby.

I have to say...this is such a well-though-out response to this whole issue! I completely agree with everything you said!

Well almost everything...

You said you couldn't imagine anyone going to WDW for a week and spending the entire time in the lounge. Well, we just got back from 8 days at Poly CL and we did partake in almost every food offering. Crazy, I know! We've been to WDW so many times that we decided to really dial it back this time, relax, and enjoy the resort and being together as a family. We hung out by the pool a lot, we watched Wishes from our room 3 nights and from the lounge 1 night, we did the torch lighting ceremony and the marshmallow roast, etc, etc. Don't get me wrong...we definitely visited the parks. But, we just made an effort to head back to the resort every day around snack and appetizer time for some good ole fashioned hangin' out and relaxin'! Very sad? Definitely not :rotfl:

But, seriously, thanks for your post. You have a great way of looking at things. There really is no good way to judge...just too many variables.

I know that I tried to center our evenings around the lounge this trip, only one evening we have dinner at Flying Fish at 550 (Villains party that night) but other than that we will be in the lounge at 5 and then go back to the parks!

We have 4/7 breakfasts out of the Lounge, does this mean I get more appetizers in the evening? JK!!!!! lol
