Our daughter was so excited to show off to two of them in particular some new clothes because she loved them so much. And, more importantly, they seemed to be paying the same level of attention to all of the guests, not just us. That's what really enhanced the concierge level experience for us: having consistent interactions with a small group of great CMs.

I am so excited!:yay: Did the check in go smoothly? Did you give CM's any gifts at end of stay? Did you get many towel animals? Did you send any items you may have bought back to the concierge desk?

No, we stayed on the 14th floor, the Tower Club. It seems the rumors of it closing were incorrect. Originally we had been relocated to the GF RPC but were then notified that the Tower Club would be open during our stay. The CR and their club levels are our favorite so we immediately had them switch us back. As far as I know all of the remodeling plans have been put off until 2012.
Now I am wondering what the reasons were for those guests who got moved from the Atrium Club 12th floor to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian last month, because I remember others posting that WDW called and told them that needed to happen. Everyone assumed it was because of renovation noise happening on the 14th floor and I thought someone had confirmed that to be true.

Originally they were supposed to have started the remodel the middle of August. The guests who were booked on the 12th and 14th floors were relocated to either the Poly or GF. They didn't start construction. We asked to be moved back to the CR. Probably too many issue with transferring everyone back, so unless requested they let it be. Pretty simple.

Thanks for all of the great post about CR Atrium club. We are doing a split stay in December. Staying at Beach Club Villas and then over to CR. Did I read somewhere that you can check in on club level as early as 7am and then go to the Atrium club? We won't be there that early, but it would be great to be able to check in and then make a visit to the club. Also, what time are the rooms typically ready? I am planning to pack up the car, drive over to CR, check in, and then make our way to the Magic Kingdom.

We have never stayed at CL before and this thread is making me more excited than ever. Thanks

Not sure about CR, but we checked in to the Poly CL last year around 8am, and they said "go on up and have some breakfast!". Our room was ready too - which was awesome :thumbsup2

It's great to read the positive reviews. We love the CR, but last August when I went w/o DH, I wasn't very impressed with the Atrium Club. DH would love to stay again at the CR and try their CL, but I'm worried about him not liking it. But, it sounds like they're doing a better job now?

Hope you don't mind answering some questions:

Was the food replenished up until closing time?

Was the lounge neat and tidy and were tables being cleaned and cleared?

Did there seem to be enough lounge staff? Did you ever see a CL manager in the lounge or walking around talking to guests?

Were they allowing guests to go into the lounge without shoes? Were adult guests wearing PJs into the lounge?

I suppose you can tell from my questions what issues I had there:rolleyes:

Thanks!

Food was generally replenished until closing time. With the desserts, they sometimes ran out of certain desserts because they had received only a certain number. They never ran out completely, but anything really good was bound to be gone by the end of the time. During other periods, food was constantly replenished.

Lounge was always neat and tidy with constant clearing of used dishes.

Plenty of lounge staff - generally 3-4 lounge staff plus the concierge staff willing to help out as well. Not sure I would have been able to identify a manager, so I can't answer that one.

I think a time or two some of us might have gone down to the lounge without shoes perhaps, but I'm not sure of that. I couldn't care less if others had on shoes there, so I can't really answer that one. I don't recall adults in PJs, but I'll admit that a time or two I still had on my clothes from the previous day when I walked down for coffee first thing in the morning. Again, this wouldn't have mattered to me at all, so I didn't notice it.

Check-in was so smooth that it was done by the time I had parked the car and come back.

Sadly, we ended up leaving very early in the morning and our two favorite CMs weren't there the last main day of our stay so we were not able to thank people as we might have liked. Maggie and Carolyn - you two were awesome!

Some towel animals. Our kids' stuffed animals were positioned uniquely in the made-up room each day.

We just had the items sent back to the CR normally, but the concierge staff picked them up every day and placed them in our room for us. We never had to pick anything up.

The renovations were to have started earlier this summer and that's why CR/CL reservations were switched over to the Poly and GF. But then they were suspended and must not have re-started:confused3.

A CM took us up to the Atrium Club in July (my DH had not seen it in person). While there, I asked a CR manager about the renovation and he said that they had just opened the 12th floor back up because the 14th floor renovations had been temporarily suspended, so there was no noise that would bother 12th floor guests. I inferred from this that the renovations had begun, but were suspended.

I'm glad to hear you were able to stay on your favorite floor, but we would only be considering the 12th floor which has a different staff and lounge set-up. Also, when the 14th floor is completed, it is slated to only have suites.

BTW, did you notice if anything had been changed yet on the Tower Club floor and/or did they actually tell you that no work at all had even started?

I'm wondering, too, because if no work at all has been done, then that makes no sense to not allow guests to stay there.

Yes, you can check-in to any resort as early as 0700 and receive your KTTW card with your park tix and DDP. CL coffee service begins at 0630 and breakfast is out at 0700. So even if your room isn't ready, you can still check-in, get your KTTW cards and use the lounge. Your room might even be ready if it wasn't occupied the night before.

I'm wondering, too, because if no work at all has been done, then that makes no sense to not allow guests to stay there.

There were no changes whatsoever on the 14th floor. It is my understanding that absolutely nothing has been started yet in regards to the remodel and that the start date has been pushed to early 2012.

In regards to the 12th floor, we were down there visiting a few times this past trip and everything that I stated for the 14th floor in terms of food, cleanliness and CMs held true for the 12th floor also.

As I said in an earlier post I think it was just easier for everyone that once the guests had been contacted and relocated it was better to just leave it as it was even though the remodeling wasn't taking place.

It makes sense not to attempt to re-do the reservations from a logistical standpoint, but you'd think they'd want the revenue at the CR and that they'd want to give the guests who had to move at least the option of going back to the CR where their original reservation was made.

Thank you for clarifying that your 12th floor experience was the same as on the 14th floor:)

I guess the one difference is unlike 2006, 2007 and 2008 they had announced a schedule of renovation dates for the 4th floor, building of the Contempo Cafe, lobby and design of new rooms when everything would be taking place. If you wanted to use those previous renovations as an example. Although I do remember an article from the Orlando Sentinal announcing these plans for the 14th floor saying that they wanted the renovation completed by November 2011, however that doesn't look like it will happen.

Just back from a great stay at the Yacht CL.
The staff was absoulutely PERFECT!!! Shakira was so awesome!!! Really they all were so great and So attentive and really helpful.
The offerings for breakfast and evening desserts were not as good as in the past but evening appetizers and drinks were terrific!! Also the availability of drinks through out the day was terrific!!!!

Were you able to get wine during the day if requested? Thanks! Glad you had a great stay. We're going to BCR CL in a few days.

Were you able to request a beer in the day (for DH) I can always go down to market and buy some but it would be nice if it could be available on request.

All beverages are actually available anytime of the day by request. At the WL, for example, they are more than happy to get you any beverage that isn't out. You can even take bottles of beer and store them in your fridge;)

That is a good idea. There will be four adults in our room, would it be too much to ask for two each? I don't want to be pushy.

While it isn't too much to ask for two alcoholic drinks each. Be sure that all 4 of you are present when you make the request. There is a two drink per adult limit. Now, I suppose one person could get two, put them in the refrigerator, return for two more, etc. until the desired quantity is reached. Nah, much easier if all four of you are present and request two each. :lmao:

We would ask for beer to bring to the pool and they were more then happy to give it to us but you must put it in a to go cup for the pool since glass is not aloud!! :)
