Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

Looking at my countdown ticker for the Boardwalk Inn it says I will be arriving there one month from today. It's always around the 30 day mark that our trip starts to feel more real and it almost feels like yesterday I remember us making the reservation back on Jaurary 1, 2011.

It's so exciting isn't it? My final payment is due in 20 days and that's when I start to feel both stressed and super excited. I know I have the money to pay for my trip but I stress about it anyway!:rotfl:

In the past, I have always waited for the room only discounts to come out prior to booking our December stays. This year, we are coordinating with another family and are planning earlier than usual. I am hoping to get a Deluxe CL room at BC. I know there are very few of these rooms. So, do you think I should book it now and try to apply the discount as soon as it comes out or should I wait and take my chances that it might not be available? Seems like some recommend booking then applying the code while others say that booking the room might take availability away resulting in the discount not being available for that category. Do any of you have specific experience with deluxe CL rooms or other types of rooms that tend to have limited availability?
Thanks!

I've booked and then had the discount applied every time, including club level deluxe. If you don't there's a pretty good chance that room will not be available.

While there wouldn't be any noise from Crescent Lake, if you're placed overlooking SAB, there will be noise, especially in the afternoon when they're playing games with loud music.

Last August, I booked a GV/CL room and requested a gazebo view. We were upgraded to LV which overlooked SAB and to the right of our balcony was Crescent Lake. I would have preferred a GV to this. However, if you get the straight-on view of Crescent Lake, I think that would be the best view and it would be quiet. That's what I would request if booking LV/CL.

Thanks so much! I upgraded today to the LV. I asked for a quiet location and will reiterate that upon arrival. Thanks again for your help!

Even if they come out woth room only discounts it might not be for the dates you reserved. For example my family and I originally reserved a Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk Inn from August 8th - 22nd without a discount. However when WDW came out with their 35% off from August 14th - October 1st we switched to a Deluxe Club Level Room from August 17th - August 31st, because we had no choice if we wanted the discount.

Thank you for the replies! I have a fair level of confidence that the discounts will be for the dates we want, at least based on my experience the last two years. I am stuck now, in any case, because my friend booked her tickets already! Worse case scenario is we skip club level (gulp, I'm spoiled now!) or even stay off site. I doubt that will happen though. I'm looking December so will go ahead and book now and hope the discount applies through those dates as it has the last two years, and I'll also hope that I'll be able to apply it to the deluxe club level room.

We will be at CR club level in late Jan. for 1st time. I was originally planning on watching Wishes each night from the 12th floor balcony as we are Bay Lake View. However, I just found out about the Wishes Dessert Party at the MK which sounds interesting. So...a few questions.

How is the view of Wishes from the Club Lounge? Is it worth seeing Wishes in the park 1 night or does it not make that much difference where you watch it from? Since we get free desserts club level, it seems silly to spend the money on the MK dessert party but it does sound like a fun thing to do. Any thoughts from people who have stayed at the Atrium Club before?

Thanks!

I have watches Wishes up there multiple times and it's a great view, plus they have speakers outside on the balconies that play the music for Wishes. Don't forget you won't have to worry about the crowds of people when leaving the Magic Kingdom.

Hi all. I am new to these boards, but figured this should be the right place to ask this. We booked AKL CL for the last week of August. I received a welcome and planning email a few days ago from IPO. My question is, do I have to fill it out and send it back?

We booked back in January, and I made all of dining reservations online and called them to book both tours at the 180 day mark so I don't really need them to do anything and they have all our arrival information. I have all of our times and confirmation numbers and emails on my phone, so I am not concerned with their personalized itinerary. Do they wait until you pay in full to send the planning email? (That may explain why we just got it.)

Thanks!

I have always booked the room I wanted early and then waited for a discount or a better discount. (By the way, we stayed in a BC deluxe CL room in February and it was wonderful!) As CR fan mentioned, a discount may not be available for the category you want, but if you check frequently, it's possible. Mousemisers is a good source - they send updates whenever Disney releases a new discount - and I always check the Disney website.

For our August stay, we booked first, and then applied better discounts as they became available. I used a general public discount for our BC standard CL room, but continued to check the website for a BC GV CL with that discount and it eventually appeared! I used the same general public discount for our BWI standard room. In May, I had a bounceback offer, so I called to see if I could apply it to both reservations. I couldn't apply it to our BC GV CL reservation (it was only available for standard) but I could apply it to our BWI reservation, so we upgraded our booking to CL.

So I'd suggest booking, keeping a close eye on the discounts, and then calling as soon as possible after a discount is released. And don't give up! At times, we thought we would not be able to secure the room category we wanted with the discount we wanted, but it later became available. Good luck!!!

Did you get it Sat the 16th? Back a page a bunch of us mentioned that we got that email too and we're at different resorts and going at different times. My guess is there was some mass CL email sent out because it seems odd we would all receive it the same day. Although, if that's the case not sure if it was intentional or unintentional of Disney's part.
If you have everything taken care of and don't need anymore assistance from IPO, I wouldn't worry about sending it back to them. If you do need something here or there I would probably just send an email without going thru the whole form. Just my thoughts on what I would do but using IPO prior to a trip is new to me so someone may have a different answer.

What things can be asked for or requested on club level at CR? I am amazed at what friends of ours requested and "supposedly" got CL at CR a few weeks ago--all in room...specific soda not offered in lounge, chocolate milk, uncrustables, etc.... (We never ask for anything except a cup of chocolate milk for our 2 year old in the morning and I felt like I was being such a pain!) So, I was just wondering what requests are made and honored?

I have heard of guests requesting caffeine-free soda prior to their arrival. But otherwise, I believe all those items are regularly stocked in CL.

When the lounge is in "off hours" between Breakfast and Evening Appetizers we have knocked on the door to request beer and bottles of Evian to bring back to our room. We rarely take more than 1 bottle of beer per guest in our party and typically just 1 bottle of Evian, though CMs frequently offer us two.

In the mornings I will sometimes ask for Apple Juice, Chocolate Milk and Yogurt as they aren't put out with the other offerings, but are available.

As for uncrustables, I believe you can request them at any time of day and between services.

I just ask for yogurt in morning and hubby will occasionally ask for beer to carry over to pool in the afternoon, but that's it and I feel difficult! HAHE..:lmao: I guess some people want to feel their getting their monies worth! I pay extra for convenience and continental breakfast.

I got one of those emails and forwarded it to the IPO just to be sure we didn't need to do anything. Here's the response I got from the IPO:
That is something that is routinely sent out to our concierge guests by The Disney Travel Company, to make sure that the concierge guest know that they are able to contact us for assistance.

We do have all of your information on file, so there is not need to fill that out.

Please contact us if you have any further questions or requests.

In my experience staying Club Level at the Contemporary they have always offered Chocolate Milk and the uncrustables in the lounge.

The only thing we have ever requested is a Half a Red Grapefruit for my Mom because she always has one with Breakfast and that's something they don't have available during the mornings.

Its been a few years since we stayed in the Regatta club. Just wondering if anyone has been lately and what they experienced.
Thanks :)

ME TOO! Love the convenience of the breakfast in the morning. To me, paying extra for just this is worth it. Thanks for the info!

So happy to have found this thread! We have booked a split-stay at Poly GV Club Level & WL Honeymoon Suite CL during the week leading up to Christmas for our wedding and honeymoon!!!:goodvibes We will spend our wedding night and the next few days at the Poly and then a few days, Christmas Eve, and Christmas at the WL. :cloud9: It will be our first Club Level experience and also our first deluxe experience together (aside from a split stay we did with AKL and a mod a few years ago.

Anyways, I just had three questions I'm hoping you can help me with:

1. I am planning to surprise my DF by buying a decorated Christmas tree for our room at the Poly. I am purchasing it from an outside vendor. The tree is only a few feet high and artificial. The vendor will be delivering it to the Poly on our wedding day (we check in that early evening). I plan to alert Poly IPO of this delivery as soon as I hear from them (we just booked the Poly today).

My question is: Does the person delivering my tree go to the Hawaii building to drop it off or does she go to the Great Ceremonial House? I don't want it to get lost in the mix.

Also, will the CM bring the small tree to our room and set it up for us (plug in the lights, place the tree on a counter) so it is all set up when we arrive that evening? I just want to make sure this is not an unreasonable request to ask a CL CM to do.

2. My second question is, when should I expect to hear from Poly IPO if we only booked the reservation today?

3. We would like to request an upper floor in a quiet location at the Poly. Do they have GV rooms on the top floor? We do not want to stay on the ground level, as we never feel private in those types of rooms with people walking by and such. Our first night at the Poly will be our wedding night, so we are looking for privacy. I thought about upgrading the view to ensure an upper floor, but we have spent the past year saving up for this trip and we just cannot afford to spend any more money. Is it likely we would end up with an upper floor as requested if we explain that it's our wedding night/honeymoon or is it just the luck of the draw?

Thanks so much!:goodvibes
