So I got an email back from CR IPO and they gave me the number for the California Grill Cake Hotline. I will be calling them on Monday since I work all day tomorrow. I'm hoping two weeks is enough time. :)

I'm signing on! We'll be staying at Poly CL in June! I've stayed at YC CL before and loved it so it will be nice to check out a new CL even though it's only for one night!!

Nice to see you found this thread, too. :thumbsup2 Loads of experience here at all CL services.

Yes! Thanks again for your help! I just emailed IPO a few mins ago about the room request and any anniversary surprise suggestions for my parents!

What room request would you put in for AKL CL? I know I'm on the 4th floor, but where along the hall is best to be? We want a good savannah view, but would prefer to avoid the long walk to the end of the hallway. We don't want to have to walk far to elevators going to/from lobby or lounge. What do you recommend I say?

Well we'll see what happens.....I tried to make my ADR's for October and shockingly there was little to no availability showing up online. So I just sent Poly IPO an email asking if they could secure 2 certain ADR's for me. Hopefully they can work some magic!

I must be doing something wrong. I have sent a few emails to BC IPO. The first email because I hadn't heard anything and our trip was getting closer. I emailed them back and asked "isn't there a form or something I need to fill out?" They finally emailed the form. I filled out the form, requested two ADRs, Wishes Dessert Party and Rose & Crown. I got an email back saying neither was available. I emailed a request for help getting a special cake for our anniversary. The response was call the cake line. After reading info on this thread I emailed IPO to ask them to confirm if our requests for a king bed and full balcony were attached to our reservation and if I could get a caffeine free soft drink in the lounge, I explained I can't have sugar or caffeine. The response from IPO was that they only have Diet Coke (caffeine), Coke, Sprite and ginger ale (sugar), but they could send a "runner" to a grocery store so we could purcahse another brand. I emailed them back saying I was a little disappointed so far. IPO didn't even answer my question regarding our requests being attached to our reservation and it looks like if I need diet caffeine free soft drinks I have to pay for them. I am starting to wish we had booked a different resort or category. I fear it's too late to change as we arrive on May 7th. Does anyone have any advice on who I could contact? Is it too late to make changes? We booked using a PIN code. We have never stayed in a deluxe or CL before. Now I am very worried abour our upcoming trip.

Sinderelly, We just returned last week from BC CL, and I can say that I also did not have any luck emailing with IPO, but when I arrived there, we were very taken care of. Two particular CM's that went out of their way to make our stay special were Neil and Vilma. I hate to say it, but from my limited experience so far, I really think there are certain stand-out CM's that really help out a lot, and other CM's that don't go very far to help. Just from what I've experienced so far. I also wanted help with bday cakes for my kids and I was given the cake hotline number, even after I described exactly what I wanted. So I went ahead and ordered my own cakes. I was also disappointed and nervous about our stay, but after arrival, Neil did a lot of special things for us that I did not request, and Vilma always offered to get DH his favorite beer at all times of the day/night.

As far as caffeine free drinks, I can't say for sure about those, but in our case we requested strawberry milk and 2 nights a CM got it for us, and 2 other nights we were told they could not do this (by a different CM). So I really do think it depends on the CM. I'll bet if you speak with Neil upon arrival that he will take care of you.

Thank you SO much for your response. The CMs that were responding to my emails are Omar and Terri. Neil and Vilma sound awesome. :goodvibes You don't know how much better I feel now.

I'm sorry you didn't get a great response, it may be worth you calling them.

I've been using the YC/BC/BWI IPO for years and on the whole they are fantastic, however, this trip I've noticed a couple (I'm not going to name names) who have not been so hot, including not responding to email requests.

I called and spoke to one of the IPO and what a difference, my requests were noted (including caffeine free drinks - I can't have caffeine as it interferes with one of my medications), no problems at all :goodvibes

2 weeks is definitely enough time :thumbsup2 Last summer I ordered a fairly elaborate cake w/ one week's notice.

Request "close to lobby" and they will not put you way down either trail (if they can help it).

I got an email back this morning from IPO at Poly regarding my room request (3rd floor). I was told that it was noted and that the room assigners would do what they could but it is not a guarantee which I know is a standard response right??

I also asked about additional anniversary surprises for my parents and she mentioned and in-room cake/restaurant cake or the strawberries/champagne for in-room.

Does anyone know if they deliver the mini castle cake from GF to Poly and what the cost would be??

The CM seemed very nice and offered additional help if needed.

Just back after a 2 week stay in CL AKL. It was perfect! However, we were way down the hall, but it is quieter and there is an elevator back there that gets you to the main floors, not the 6th floor. We were in 4321 and it has bunk beds for the kids. My dad was in 4315 and he had 2 queen beds. Both views were gorgeous. We had a lot of trees from our angle and the trees were not as thick from his angle, so his view was maybe a little better. Both were gorgeous though, but way down the hall. Quiet though! Please don't hesitate to ask if you have anymore questions.

WOW! Two weeks AKL CL must have been :cloud9:!

Yeah, that's the standard response whether CL or not.

Which Poly IPO CM responded to you? Just curious, as I'm tempted to ask for delivery of champagne and flutes. The response I got previously was to ask Disney Florists. Chilled champagne and flutes in the room seems such a simple thing, I'm loathe to have to get another company involved especially if it can be handled "in house".

I forgot to mention that we did the Sunrise Safari and it was one of the greatest things we have ever done in WDW. Our guide was the head guy for AKL & he designed the savannah's for the DVC. He was amazing! We learned so much from him. It was the GREATEST experience and we will never forget it. The breakfast was so good too. I would tell anyone on the fence about doing it to go! It couldn't have been better! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your info! We plan on booking the safari & it's great to hear you loved it. I wish we could stay 2 wks, but DH thought 8 days on our last trip was too long.:(

Johnsonet, Thanks! I will keep it simple & ask for closer to the lobby. Or do I ask for between lobby & mid elevators?

Hi all! Getting really close to our trip now!!! Question??? I think I read at some point that if you are staying club level it is best to NOT do online check-in. Is this still true? We are staying at the Poly if that makes a difference.

TIA!

During our Club Level stays at the Contemporary and Boardwalk Inn since online check-in started we have never used it because we always checked-in inside the Club Level lounge. Plus when we arrived at the main entrance there was always a Cast Member to greet us so they could take us up to the lounge.

Personally, I wouldn't ask for "between lobby and mid-elevators" unless walking is a major problem. Those rooms are so close in that they don't have as good a view as those mid-way and beyond on the trails. By requesting "close to lobby" you're letting them know you don't want a looong walk - but a bit of a walk will be worth having a giraffe right off your balcony ;)

Right. If you're staying club level and are corresponding w/ IPO re. your requests and expected arrival time, you don't need to do on-line check-in.
