Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

Congrats - that's awesome! Unfortunately, things didn't work out that way for me. The main reason I turned over my ADR's to IPO is because I was in Disneyland on my 180 day mark and I didn't want to have to get up at 4am to make them myself. I just got back tonight and didn't have an email from them so I checked online - none of my reservations were made!! I went ahead and made them myself tonight but I didn't get the times I wanted on several. Ugh.

Oh no, that's not good. But, I would call them asap, like pp said, sometimes online just doesn't show them. This happened last year to me too, last year, when I had them do 1 ADR that I was having trouble with.

When you send your IPO your info sheet with your name and ADR requests, what do you guys put in the area that asks for "any additional requests"?
I know I will put my room request there, but is there anything else?
There's already a section for dinner adrs, tours, dinner shows.

Have any of you ever stayed in a BC Deluxe Room? If so, I'd love to hear about your experience.

I'm debating on whether to switch our 8 nights WL/CL to BC/Deluxe. The WL Deluxe rooms aren't available with our discount, but the BC Deluxe is.

Looking for help with the Inskeeper club. This will be the frist time we will have stay there, or any of the CL. Any kind of Info food,typ drinks etc location. Is this where you get the news paper In the Morining?. Can you get into the cl at anytime to get drinks?.

We stayed in a BC Deluxe CL room in 2009 - we loved it! The regular rooms are 381 sq. feet and I believe the deluxe rooms were 540 sq. feet.
We were in Room 1557 which was right by the quiet pool. We were a hop, skip and a jump from EPCOT.

Thank you for responding. I believe I found your older post(s) about the BC Deluxe when I did a search on the YC/BC thread.

I notice that you've stayed at both the YC and BC. We stayed at the YC/CL in August, but never at the BC. I've read comments that the BC lounge is often very crowded, especially at breakfast. Did it seem more crowded to you than the Regatta Club? Is it often difficult to find a table? Is it easy to bring food/drinks back to a Deluxe room seeing that it's on another floor? Do they have trays?

Looking at the Disneyzone BC map, it seems the rooms that end in X557 don't have connecting doors, do you recall if this is correct? I'd want to request one of the 4 rooms ending in X557 so that we wouldn't have a connecting door and would also be closer to Epcot.

I hope you don't mind all the questions. I'd really like to make my decision soon before the room is no longer available since there are only 6 Deluxe rooms and I think only 4 are queens.

One month from today we will be at the Swan for a 3 night stay....then on to the CL MK view in a 1 BR suite for 7 nights. I could not be more excited!!!! I am ready to pack tonight!

How long does it take for Poly IPO to get back with your itnerary? Im asking b/c today is our 180 mark and Im antsy about my Adrs..I cant seem to stay off the site checking to make sure our days and times are available..

CL is open until 10pm normally, they try and keep fridge stocked with sodas. No plastic bottles of water but they do have big glass bottles of Evian and you can ask for one to put in your room fridge.

We didnt need mugs..

They do have trays to bring the food back down to your room. We often did this in the evening. I would be getting the kids ready to go out and DH would go up with one of the kids and get a tray of appetizers and a couple of glasses of wine. In the morning we would get ready and then go up to the lounge for breakfast before going to the parks.

I really didn't notice much of a difference in the BC/YC CL lounges. They can get busy at times, but it all depends on the time of day. We never had a problem getting a seat and usually a table. There is a small balcony that has a few chairs outside the lounge that we used a lot in the mornings. Seems like most people didn't realize it was even out there.

You do trade a little bit of inconvenience for extra room but it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for us.

There are bunk bed CL rooms but it is only a request you can not book that category. I was in one once. It was nice to have the extra floor space. I was there with just me & DD. I had not requested it because I thought some kids might really want it so they wouldn't have to share with a sibling but my DD really loved it.

Are there no CL rooms for your dates or just no discounted CL rooms for your dates? It can be difficult to book AKL CL rooms at a discount.

Lounge opens at 6:30am for coffee then they bring out the food at 7am. Breakfast is very nice. Oatmeal; bagels (but not bread for toasting); crousants; a rotating variety of patries-they have 2 per day-cheese danish, cinnamon rolls, chocolate/coconut desset like pastries, maybe a coffee cake-I think about 6 different ones; they also had a rotating variety of muffins-again I think 2 per day-I really enjoyed the lemon poppy seed ones; a nice variety of fruit, yogurt, 4 cereals-I think granola, raisin bran, corn flakes and fruit loops; and V8, OJ, milk, chocolate milk.

Snacks in the afternoon were soda, ice tea, lemonade, homemade potatoe chips, yogurt covered pretzels, gummy fish, cookies....

Evenings they had orzo salad, some other salad, fresh veggies, cheese/crackers, 2 hot dishes from Kouzina, and apples with carmel sauce and really nice PBJ pinwheels for the kids. They also had soda and beer & wine. Unlike other CLs I've been to BWI CL doesn't have the space to leave the ice tea out at this time.

Later they have desserts and cordials. I remember a very nice raspberry mouse thing they had that was my favorite.

You can get soda, coffee, tea and large glass bottles of water- until they close the doors at 10pm.

Each room gets a USA Today in the mornings and I think the lounge has other papers you can read there.

The PP is right...you have to request BB and they are not guaranteed. I wish it was a room category to book--I wouldn't mind paying extra to assure that I have them. I requested BB for our upcoming stay in May (first time CL!!) The IPO told me that when BB requests are filled (for AKL CL) first priority is given to families that have older children who are not the same gender. My kids (DS and DD) are younger, but I'm still hoping to get them (come on pixie dust!!). I believe that about half of the CL rooms have BB.

I couldn't find a photo/description of the beer selection for the BC. Does anyone recall what brand(s) are available at the Stone Harbor Club?

For those of you that have stayed Poly CL, if given the choice, which would you prefer the Tonga or Hawaii Building? I am traveling with small kids, so location is the key. And if I have to walk to Hawaii for desserts, evening offerings, well IDK. I've never stayed in either. My trip isn't until May 2012 so any insight is appreciated, I am also going through the Poly threads, but Tonga reviews are limited. TIA

Do you plan on booking a room or suite? Hawaii is all rooms and Tonga is all suites. The suites are very expensive and rarely (never?) offer discounts. I've only ever stayed Hawaii.

This makes perfect sense and I hope it's the same at WL. DS is 16 & DD is 11 - and a terrible bed hog!!! (I just shared a bed with her at Beach Club this past weekend - it was not restful!)
