The other resorts can and will do this, but be careful, they often charge a fee for the service. Just be sure you know what you are requesting and if there is a fee associated with the stocking of your refrigerator.

Last night my Dad was telling me that the Boardwalk should change their room categories and they should add the Boardwalk View onto their Standard Club Level Rooms, so this way it doesn't need to be requested. So does anyone actually see them doing that in the future or is it not possible? I know that's already a booking category for their non Club Level rooms and the fact the Boardwalk View already comes with their Deluxe Rooms, so anyone who wants the view could just reserve that specifc room. Anyway what are your opinions about that?

I don't know how many standard CL rooms have BW view. Here's the rack rate for Jan 2011 value season:
Standard CL $480
Deluxe CL $600

For comparison at BC:
Standard CL $480
Water CL $540
Deluxe CL $555

YC:
Standard CL $475
Garden view CL $480
Lagoon View CL $555
Jr Suite $650

I've never stayed CL at BC or YC but there is "only" $120 difference between standard CL & deluxe CL at BWI. Say they made BW view CL the same a water view at BC at $540. Wouldn't most just pay the extra $60 to stay in a deluxe room? I would fear that if they added BW view CL they would raise the price of the deluxe room. What is the set up of the Jr Suites at YC? Comparable to Deluxe room at BW?

It would seem like the dreaded "behind the ESPN Club" rooms at BW should be "standard" and the other rooms "garden view". I would pay the $5 (difference at YC) to not stay in those rooms.

If you had a choice between Poly CL or Contemporary CL - which would you choose and why? There will be five of us in the room - 3 adults and 2 children. We are booked right now at WL CL with two seperate rooms but thinking of switching to the larger rooms and staying together. We are all staying together before our Disney stay in one stateroom on the Dream - so we are ok being together. We will only be there for 2 nights and will go to MK one day and Epcot the other. Had considered YC or BC but the transportation to MK isn't that good and I am travelling with my parents.

The people at Boardwalk are totally amazing. Anita, Linda, Lorenzo (those 3 especially), Jackie, Pete---every last one of them. They are all so pleasant and "real". They really do make you feel at home, and as if you are all part of a family. My grandkids want me to take them to Poly next year---I'll compromise, and give them a Poly/BWI split stay. I could not stand being here and not staying at Boardwalk.

Had a wonderful boardwalk view, and this trip is the first where we spent a lot of time out on the balcony. Some people complain about the size of the balcony, but the two of us comfortably spent hours out there. Loved watching the EPCOT fireworks from the club balcony---and could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from my own balcony! (had a 4th floor room)

Who in heavens name was complaining about Disney cutting down the amount of food offered in the lounges? Breakfast is always oatmeal, 2 kinds of cereal, croissants, fresh fruit, 2 kinds of bagels, pastries (at least 2 kinds), and muffins. Those chocolate chip muffins and the blueberry muffins were delicious!

Afternoon snacks were fishy crackers, chocolate covered almonds, chocolate covered raisins, 2 types of cookies, and the home made chips, along with canned drinks and lemonade and iced tea.

Evening appetizers were fresh veggies with dip, humus, pita bread, crackers, cheeses, 3 types of Greek salad, and 2 different hot offerings. I have no idea what some of the hot things were, but---I am not an adventurous eater, and I loved them. The pot stickers were fabulous.

Evening desserts? I know there were 3 types of wine and 3 types of beer offered. Food varied from rice krispie treat, the caramel apple things, cookies, cheesecakes (the key lime was to die for), delicious chocolate cupcakes, canoli, chocolate covered strawberries, and some other types of chocolate. Plenty of choice.

Someone once said that the staff members watch and make you uncomfortable to get too much food. Not here!

Rooms were always clean, and housekeeping did a wonderful job replinishing everything. I always like turndown service, with the taffy and the card left on the pillow, and all the dirty towels replaced, trash emptied, etc.

Big River Grille seemed to be having plumbing problems a couple of days when we were there, and was closed. Used Boardwalk to Go kiosk once, and the food was surprisingly good. Went to the quiet pool on the Inn side a couple of times---no one there but me, which was wonderful.

Transportation was much better this time than last---before , we often made stops at Swan, Dolphin, Yacht and beach. This time, it was just Swan/Dolphin, and on the return trips, Boardwalk was always the first stop.

It did surprise me that the "A" was burned out on the huge "The Boardwalk" sign that burns over the Villa side, and was never fixed. Must be something major. Everything else in the hotel and on the boardwalk was pristine and working.

Disney was doing computer updates while we were there, so there were plenty of managers and suits running around on the floor. I made sure to praise the staff members whenever I could.

Although Mom and I made it to all the parks, and did most of the park things I wanted to do, I did plan a lot of resort time this trip--in fact, this is the most time we have spent just staying at the resort. I enjoyed it so much, and I know she did as well. Very relaxing, great environment, special people. I miss them already.

I agree with Jackie about the wonderful staff at the BW Conceirge. We had a few interactions with them the day we arrived as they were not able to get us our room keys right away. We got a white key with our room number on it. We were sent to the lounge while they waited for a supervisor to print them. As compensation we got a free park hopper pass each. That was great.

All the staff was as friendly as could be.

DH and I had one of the Garden Suites - 1207 with the private balcony and we loved it. Very quiet and peaceful. It was a quick trip up to CL (right above our room). We took the elevator from first floor to the fourth and walked the short walk there (one stretch of hallway was very cold though???).

Lots of great offerings. No one gave us a funny look for what we took.

Did ask about cranberry juice and they said they have the concentrated stuff in the back and they would make it if asked. They said they don't have a lot of requests for it..I said I didn't know you had it.

The cookies were the best and all the other food was fresh and tasty.

No issues while we waited there the last 45 minutes before our Magical Express pick up yesterday.

The entire staff at the CL was friendly and super helpful. We ran into no one who was "grumpy and unwilling to help" as I had read on the board in other posts.

I have stayed Club Level at both resorts and without a doubt I would go with the Contemporary. They are the closest resort to the Magic Kingdom and the only one with a walkway that goes there, it's very easy going to Epcot because you take the Resort Monorail one stop to the TTC and switch to the Epcot Monorail, we thought their food offerings in the lounge was better and in our opinion the Cast Members were better.

Honestly we found the Contemporary rooms to be bigger then the Club Level rooms in the Hawaii Longhouse at the Polynesian. We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge before however not on their Club Level floor, so I can't say anything about that.

Well the decision was made today and it is not Contemporary! We changed our WL CL reservations to Poly CL. My Dad nixed the Contemporary!! He really wants to stay at Poly. When I was a kid we stayed there the first year it opened and then again the year after Epcot opened and he has always wanted to go back. I think he wants my sister (they adopted her last year, I'm 42 she is 6!) to go too. We reserved a garden view CL room. I assume our room will be on the backside of the Hawaii bldg.
If anyone has any suggestions/advice about the Poly - I would love to read them. How is their club level lounge? Any chance they have chocolate-chocolate chip muffins? My son, Connor, loved them in the club lounge at WL this past summer.
I think Connor and Asia (my sis) will love the pool at Poly too. I am getting excited for the big reveal of this trip - Cruise and WDW. We are going to tell them on Christmas morning. I have been working on all different crafts for their presents - cruise autograph book, countdown calendars, shirts, etc... Yeah, I'm going all little overboard...

The only floor in the Hawaii bldg with balconies is the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor doesn't have them. I haven't been at Poly since 2009, but don't remember chocolate muffins. They had other flavors, but not chocolate. That was before they redid the menus, before they offered oatmeal, so maybe they have them now. We love staying at the Poly! We did just a quick 4 day trip this year, half the group at POR-AB, the other half at POR-FQ. My 7 yr old niece put one foot inside their FQ room and announced she was not staying there, she was going to the Poly lol! I'd actually pick Poly over CR for ease of getting to MK and EPCOT. Take the boats to MK, then just walk to TTC and take the monorail to EPCOT- no need to transfer. You can see Wishes from the lounge, they pipe the sound in. You can also see them from the beach, but it's hard to hear the music. You can also watch the Electric Light Parade from the beach.

I love Poly's CL. Even though the "backside " of Hawaii will be your room, it is so easy to just walk around the corner and be on the beach with THE view. I love sitting in front of the big window in the lounge. When we stay garden view CL, I do prefer the first floor with the patio area, and always request that.

I don't think you are going overboard with the surprise!

I totally agree with your dad I've been saying the very same thing for ages, there's only about 7 standard club level rooms with the boardwalk view, most are deluxe or the suites.

Now, I heard a little rumour a while back from a CM at Disney Travel UK, she said the Boardwalk room views would be changing in 2011, similar to the YC/BC room view categories. Of course this is just a 'rumour' but then again if it's already happened at the YC/BC it may happen at the BWI.

I am happy that we got a reservation for the Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk for next month, since we had a hard time getting Club Level for any dates with the Bounceback rate. However had the Deluxe Room became available with the Fall/Winter Room Only rate or the Annual Pass rates, we would have switched to that in a second to get the Boardwalk View and I looked everyday and it was not available. Now we did request the Boardwalk View and if we get it great, however if we don't then I won't be disappointed because it's most important being back at Walt Disney World and the Boardwalk for our vacation.

Honestly we had no issues of noise with people walking around and etc. Now when the boats honk their horns you will hear them, although those weren't bad. Finally each morning we would hear this noise that sounded like a squeaking sound and we were not sure where it was coming from, so I can't say anything else about it.

I have only heard noise one time, and it was this latest trip. Around 4:30 in the morning, I heard the sound of a cart rolling outside. Many nights spent in BW view rooms, and this was the first time I have heard outside noise.
