Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

I'm confused - I was told the offerings were the same at SL and RPC, the only difference was that RPC was in the Main Building.

I'm definitely feeling like I made the wrong decision switching from Poly TPV Cl to GF SL CL. Thank goodness it's only for two nights before switching to our beloved BC CL for 15 nights!

Was there a difference in the breakfast offerings too? I'm staying SL this August, and was wondering if they had that delicious Smoked salmon herbed cream cheese that they had in the main building.

Did you notice and other differences in the food offerings as well? I'd love to find out :)

There were additional items served in the Main Building's Twilight Refreshers' offerings that were not offered on the Sugar Loaf menu. Of course, the same wonderful and friendly chef staff creates the food at both GF CL locations. [Sorry, no photos.] Because the seating in the Main Building's CL is spread out, the congestion and noise that is part of the Sugar Loaf experience is somewhat lacking. However, the primary guest culprits in the Main Building are the breakfast barefoot and bathrobed set. No CM enforcement of a dress code there, however. The only oasis of civility in the GF is V&A's!

All the best. :thumbsup2

V&A is probably the only true oasis in all of WDW!

Second place would go to a solo car on the People Mover when the other four cars are empty! Also, the People Mover is a bit less expensive than V&A. ;)

All the best. :thumbsup2

Just back from a wonderful stay at the BC. We enjoyed the entire resort and made great use of the CL. The breakfast offerings were fantastic! We ate breakfast there every morning and made it to rope drop when we wanted. The lounge is a bit crowded in the morning, but we still enjoyed it. I heard that some lounges don't enforce dress codes. Well, I never saw anyone in there with a robe on and one day some kids came in without shoes & a CM told them they had to go back to their room and put on shoes. I was very happy with the lounge and if I find another great deal for CL, I will do it again. Otherwise I would rather spend the money on an extra night.

Thanks for your review and it's refreshing to read that the rules were actually enforced. A while back I had read some really negative reviews about the BC lounge. I read of other guests in wet bathing suits, someone actually ringing out their wet socks in the lounge:scared1:, shoeless guests... It sounds like you didn't experience any of that:thumbsup2

I've also read that frequently the lounge gets so crowded that seats are hard to get and food doesn't get replenished fast enough. Was this ever your experience?

No one in wet bathing suits or wet socks, while I was there. Just the kids who tried to get in without shoes & were told to go back to their room and get shoes.

In the morning the lounge gets VERY crowded and it can hard to get a table. The staff was very quick to replenish food, so I didn't find that to be a problem. The lounge wasn't crowded any other time except for breakfast. I guess because so many people are trying to make rope-drop.

Does anyone know the IPO email address for WL? I used the link on the first page of this thread, but it came back undeliverable, this is the one I used Wilderness.Lodge.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.co

Thanks!

Yes, I think I see what the problem is. When the OP copied that first page (which she took from my old thread), something happened which separated the "m" from ".com" The address should still be valid, but you'll need to add the "m" or it won't go through. :thumbsup2

I don't know if the OP is monitoring this thread, but if you are, please go back to post 1 and fix a couple of those email addresses. :)

Thanks for posting you're review. Now I am wondering what time did you eat breakfast in the lounge? During my families previous Club Level stays we like to eat between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM when we aren't planing to visit the parks for rope drop, so when we stay Club Level at the Beach Club would that be a good time when the lounge isn't as crowded when it comes to getting a table?

Thanks so much! I am trying to figure out how much we will get filled up at CL. I don't know whether I should make ADR's for TS meals or just eat at CL and then snack or CS at the parks.

Hi britfish! We recently discovered a formula that works for us - but we don't use the dining plan, so that's key. We stop by the lounge for appetizers around 6pm or so and we have ADRs between 7pm and 7:30pm. Even though we do TS for dinner, we don't order as much as we did without CL. We love so many TS restaurants (and it's so much easier with three kids!!) so we don't want to give that up, but since we're not on the dining plan we have flexibility to order what we want.

CR Resort Fan, we're a rope drop family and when we stayed BC CL in February, we found the lounge very manageable with plenty of tables right at 7am. I wonder if it will be more crowded at that time in August.

We'll do rope drop at TL (EMH) in August, but other than that, it's a non-park trip. So we have flexibility to eat a little later than our typical 7am breakfast. If anyone has suggestions about the best times for breakfast in the lounge at BC and BWI, we'd appreciate the advice!

At the BWI during the month of August we didn't find the lounge to be that busy during the morning when we were there in August 2010, because as I said in my previous reply we like to eat between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Although on the mornings we go to the parks for rope drop we like to eat earlier like between 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM, however we didn't have problems getting any tables.

May I ask what kind of hot appetizers they served in the evenings? And do they change the selection every night?

We will be at BC CL 4 weeks from today. It will be our first CL stay and I am starting to think of questions. We will be arriving via ME, I know we are to meet with a CM to take us upstairs, where will they be? Will they be right there when we get off the bus, or do we need to go somewhere to find them in the lobby?

I guess it depends on whether or not you and your family are big eaters. I don't make a lot of ADR's when staying CL, since we fill up at CL and then aren't hungry for dinner. The kids would rather eat at the CL lounge and snack there than go out somewhere. :goodvibes

Now there is one gal I know on the boards who stays CL and does DxDDP. So I guess it all depends on what and when you tend to eat while at WDW. :)

Has anyone seen a list like this for the offerings at BC? I promise I've looked myself before asking.

I am looking for a supervisor or department head's contact info for the Poly IPO. Can anybody help me? One of the CM has been particularly fabulous and I'd like to commend him.
