Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

We've stayed at nearly every club level, including BWI and a few times at GF RPC. We always drive, and we have never received a gold parking pass. It has always been white, but has a "C" on it designating Club Level (formerly Concierge).

Hi All,
Strongly considering our 4th CL stay the week before Christmas! Last year, we went with another family of 4 and stayed in adjoining rooms at BC CL. I really loved the BC CL including the set up of the lounge, the location of the resort, etc. Prior stays were at AKL and WL.
This year, it looks like DH will stay behind and I will travel with a good friend and her DD. So it will be 2 moms, 2 12 year old girls and an 8 year old boy. What resort do you recommend for the best rooms to accomodate the 5 of us (without booking 2 rooms or an extravagant suite)? Each year we have been able to book CL on a significant discount, so hoping for new discounts to come out for December soon.
I am giddy about the idea of going with another mom. I love DH but he only really loves WDW because me and the kids love it, it is not really his preferred vacation. This should be a lot of fun!

I have stayed CL several times and the only Golden Ticket I can think of is your key is Yellow.... You don't get that until check in.

Yes my room key was yellow/gold (CL guest only), but we also had a ticket for valet/bell services.

Hoping no hurricane's while there, DH played mean joke saying they had forecasted one in a few weeks. Luckily, I didn't fall for it.

I've yet to get one. But someone on the Poly thread told me they downloaded theirs (I think you print it out at home), so I'll let you know if I get one soon.

You're right, I remember now --its printed out and mine printed gold/yellow!

Well the Contemporary has the largest standard rooms among the Deluxe Resorts and their Club Level rooms are located on the Atrium Club 12th floor of the Tower. Plus you can choose between a Tower - Theme Park View, Club Level Room or a Tower - Bay Lake View, Club Levle Room.

Now these might be harder to reserve because they only have a total of 10 rooms, but I would also recommend a Deluxe Club Level Room at the Boardwalk Inn which have a lot of space. That's assuming they are available because once they are sold out chances they are hard to get, no matter if they are reserved under the rack rate or room only discount.

In the past we have been able to use room only public discount codes for both of room categories and this August we were able to reserve the Deluxe Room at the Boardwalk Inn on another 35% room only discount.

Can anyone that has stayed at the GF recently tell me a little more about their offerings? Or any pics? I couldn't find anything recent.

CLUB LEVEL

Concierge service at the Outer Building Sugar Loaf Club and the Main Building Royal Palm Club includes personalized Front Desk and Guest Services, turndown service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, afternoon tea, evening wine, cheese and hors d'oeuvres, and late night cordials and desserts. The CL rooms have DVD players.

The real difference between the two is the location, otherwise you receive the same services and food offerings. Outer building Club Level is in the Sugar Loaf building, while the Royal Palm Club is in the Main Building. In RPC, you are near the hustle and bustle of the lobby, and in the evenings you can hear the piano player and/or the orchestra while relaxing in the lounge. You have the option of booking, and paying extra for, rooms that have a view of the MK theme park. In Sugar Loaf, you are in a more casual, clubby atmosphere, and all rooms will have a view of either the courtyard pool or marina.

The third, fourth and fifth floors of the main building are home to the 83 Club Level rooms (including suites). Access to these floors is by private elevator only. Staff is available on the third floor to answer questions, plan outings, to make dining arrangements, ticket purchases, make transportation arrangements and to fill requests for special dining or accommodation needs. The RPC lounge is located on the fourth floor, with food offerings and various seating areas.

All of the rooms in the Sugar Loaf building are Club Level, and access to the whole building is keyed. The SL lounge is located on the main floor, in the center of the building, and the cast member desks are located within the lounge.

We just returned from a Sugar Loaf stay several days ago. We regularly stay at either Sugar Loaf or the Main Building. There is a difference between Sugar Loaf and the Main Building. Additional food items are in the Main Building, especially at Twilight Refreshers. And the guests are different, especially in the warmer months. Sugar Loaf is populated by the shirtless and the shoeless set. And guests with wet bathing suits make the chairs damp, to say the least. Ironically, 7-11 stores have a stricter dress code than Sugar Loaf. The CMs at Sugar Loaf are superb; however, the management does not alllow them to enforce dress codes or civil behavior.

All the best. :thumbsup2

We are staying in the main building (fortunately after reading your post!) Do you remember the food offerings? I know the first page says hot appetizers, etc. but I was hoping for a little more specific info. (or pics)!

Well, I can't remember where I saw some pics, but when I find them I'll post them. Did you look on the CL Pics thread? I think there were some on there. :)

I'll try to remember it all. There was an awful lot!

Let's see. Breakfast had an assortment of breads and pastries, hot oatmeal, fresh fruit, and spreads for the bread. One of them was a smoked salmon herbed cream cheese that was to die for! They also had cold meats and some cheese. Snacks were, well, snacks. ;) Tea had scones, and usually trifle, and also had Devonshire Cream and jellies for the scones.

The appetizers were complicated things like bacon wrapped shrimp with something else done to them. Very fancy, usually three of them, and some very nice specialty cheeses as well. I can definitely tell you for sure that you will get your monies worth at GF CL! :)

I know that k&a&c'smom had a post on the GF thread a few days back and she had a lot more detail on the offerings, but you might have to go back a few pages to find it.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Was there a difference in the breakfast offerings too? I'm staying SL this August, and was wondering if they had that delicious Smoked salmon herbed cream cheese that they had in the main building.

Did you notice and other differences in the food offerings as well? I'd love to find out :)

We are staying at BWI-CL standard at the end of July. Woo-Hoo, less than a month!!!!
Anyway, we have some non-expiration tickets from our 2006 trip that still have a couple of days left on them, but we are not sure how many. I know I can't call and find out what's left on them, but I'm wondering if IPO can help me. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

There is a number you can call. I had the same thing happen to me. I found the number at Mousesavers.com or allears.net. I called Disney and they couldn't have been nicer. Good luck.
