We just got back from our June 22-July 1 stay at BWI CL. It was WONDERFUL!!! Again, it must be said - the staff is fabulous. We were always greeted with a smile and kind word every time we entered the lounge. The breakfast offerings were perfect for us. We are not big breakfast eaters. There was oatmeal with the "fixins", 4 types of cereal, cantelope, green melon, beautiful strawberries, muffins (during our stay blueberry, chocolate chip and lemon poppyseed rotated), croissants, choc. filled pastries, cinnamon rolls, banana bread, (one morning cream cheese filled pastries), selection of bagels, yogurt, V8 juice, whole milk, skim milk, chocolate milk and orange juice, coffee with hazelnut, vanilla and one other flavoring as well as cream and sugar - sweeteners, plus a huge variety of teas.
The afternoon offerings were sodas, tea, lemonade, yogurt covered pretzels, gummy fish, potato chips.
The evening always had raw vegetables with dip, variety of cheese and crackers, several greek type salads, hummus with bread, and the hot offerings which changed every evening consisted of spinach filled phyllo triangles, lamb balls, meatballs, dumplings, egg rolls. They had yummy peanut butter and jelly rolls with powdered sugar on top that my girls loved as well as sliced apples with caramel sauce.
The desserts were usually cookies, lemon tarts, chocolate pastries, and a flan like custard dessert. We only saw chocolate covered strawberries one afternoon but did not get any. A family took the entire plate and there were not any more put out.
The only disappiontment of the stay was our room assignment. I had booked our trip last July and was told getting a boardwalk view would not be a problem since I was the 1st person to book. Unfortunately, in February I had to change our trip dates due to my daughters cheerleader camp being switched from July to June. I knew it would be a possibility that we would not have a boardwalk view. When we checked in it sounded as if we did have one. However, when we arrived at the room 4211, we realized we had one of those rooms at the end of the hall that looked towards epcot, the back of ESPN and in immediate view were 2 satellites and a service road to ESPN. It took me a couple of days to get past the view but what I soon realized was how incredibly quiet it was and that we could see the EPCOT fireworks perfectly and could even see Nightastic from our balcony as well. It was a very long walk to the room but we were at least on the CL lounge floor which was convenient.
I would definately stay at the BWI again. It was so beautiful and everyone who worked there was beyond friendly. It was our best trip yet.
Thanks for your review! I'm getting exciting for my return trip in 2 weeks. I loved those PB&J sandwiches as did my DS. Much better than the standard uncrustables!

Sorry for your room assignment. I was assigned that room in May but asked to be moved. I had to stay there 1 night but moved the next day. I knew I wouldn't be happy there all week. Did you ask if you could be moved?

Has anyone ever been able to have concierge staff have a park pass purchased for you? They told me they could not do it. We are checking in late and hope to get to beaches and Cream before it closes so I do not want to spend all night at the front desk getting checked in, but wanted to head to the park in the morning first thing-again without a long time at the desk.
My son and I have tickets, but we need a park hopper for his friend.
Also when should I expect a copy of itinerary-requested it twice and still did not get it emailed to me.
I have purchased a park pass from CL staff but only in person-perhaps they can't purchase it ahead of time for you. I too have had wonderful service from Undercover Tourist.

Sorry they haven't responded to your emails.:confused3

Totally new to the Club level thing so have a few questions. DH and I are booked in a CL studio at AKL March 7-12. We are DVC and never thought we would be able to get a CL room but we got very very very lucky. So my first question is when do you contact the IPO people? Next DH is diabetic would they be able to have anything for him?

I am so enjoying reading this thread. I was showing DH it and he even wants to add another night at Poly in a CL room. So thanks for all you wonderful info!
:woohoo:Congrats! Love AKL CL! I usually email IPO on my own before they contact me with my ADR requests. You have to do the sunrise safari!!!

I don't have any experience with dietary restrictions but I'm sure they'll help you out with that.

Has anyone recently asked Poly IPO to make a pre-trip purchase so it is in the room before you arrive?

I have done this several times in the past w/o issue. Last year, however, BC IPO was very happy to assist while Poly IPO refused and said I have to use Disney florist.

Nothing from the florist really fits my need. I don't plan to ask for much to be purchased (a couple of plush characters). Any experiences lately with Poly IPO's willingness to do shopping?

I asked the Poly IPO's for help with this and was directed to the Disney Florest also. Since I wanted to pick and choose what I wanted, I am working with Betsy instead (read about her here - http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com/mbb/index.php).

At this point, I am just hoping that the CMs will be able to put the purchases in the room prior to our arrival, but I'm not even expecting that since our room is not guaranteed until we get there.

The last time I needed in room surprises, I too was directed to Disney Florist by Poly IPO. When I looked at the Disney Florist's offerings and prices :scared1:, I quickly determined utilizing that service was not acceptable.

I again contacted IPO and indicated there was nothing at DF that I desired, but I wanted X, Y, and Z and would they be so kind as to charge it to my CC and have it placed in my room upon arrival.

While we were at the resort I did inquire of the CL manager whether or not pre-purchasing items was still a service of IPO/CL. He assured me that it was indeed a function of the CL CMs and apologized for any hesitation by the CMs. I have also spoken to CMs with CL and been informed that while it is their function, they are now being discouraged to do so. Further, that they were not being given the time necessary to do the shopping. I believe the manager was blowing smoke and the CMs were being honest. It may well be a written function of their CL positions, but their manager is a dink and trying to diminish the man hours necessary to perform it.

Wonder why this is unique to Poly? (or is it?) Other IPO/CL have no problem with it (at least my experience).

Anyone know how flexible Disney florist will be? I don't want to spend $300, but even if I did I would not want a giant stuffed Mickey to get home, we don't need an autograph book, etc. etc. etc.

Can we take food back to our room? We are staying CL at the BC this fall, staying in a deluxe club level room so may be on a different floor.

Yes - we stayed in a deluxe cl room at BC last summer and did that. Sometimes DH and one of the kids would go and get a few plates of appetizers and bring them down while the rest of us were getting ready to go out to dinner, or a few mornings one of us would go up and get breakfast for the others.

When we were at AKL we stayed on the 4th floor and the CL was on the 6th. We took food back all the time so we could sit on the balcony and watch the critters while we snacked!

I am going to book either Royal Palm (standard room- no theme park view available with my pinl) or CR club level for my fall trip. I wasn't able to find a theme park view in CR with my pin code- only the standard club room in club with no guarantee of MK view.

Royal Palm looks lovely- should I give it a try or go with my first choice of CR and hope for the best when it comes to getting the MK view. (this view really made the trip for me last time.)

thanks for your thoughts!

My family and I have had a lot of Club Level stays at the Contemporary and the Bay Lake View (which is their standard room up there) is an amazing view. Plus you can go into the lounge anytime you want to look at the Magic Kingdom, watch the fireworks from there and the music is piped into the balconies in the lounge. Besides that all their Club Level Cast Members are great, the lounge is amazing and their food offerings taste great.

In the past we have always made our ADR's through IPO. This year I've made a few online. My question is, when I check in to YC CL will they be able to see and print our *all* the ADR's on our itinerary (including the ones I made on my own)? I'm not really sure how the login works and how things get linked.

TIA!

Yes, they will--you may have to ask for the itinerary if they haven't already prepared it.

You don't need to wait until you get there to do it. You can do it right now. Any time I have added or changed my ADRs on my own, I just email the changes to the IPO (Poly in my case) and they revise the itinerary and send it to me via email.

Just wanted to share my experience today with the BWI IPO. They are fantastic! I e-mailed IPO early this morning (7am) with all of my ADRs I wanted (today is my 180 day mark). I meant to e-mail them to the IPO last night, but I forgot:scared1: I was going to make them myself, but I decided to let IPO make them. Well, they e-mailed me less than an hour later, and got everything that I wanted for January 3-10!!!! Exact times (within 10 minutes) and everything!
They are great!

Thanks CR Fan! I'm so excited for my trip!

One more question - Do we check in at the regular check in on the first floor? I will probably do online check in - is this the best way to go?

Thanks.
