I am so happy :cool1: I was able to apply the Free Dining discount to my AKL CL reservation this AM. Looking forward to another peaceful stay at a beautiful resort with access to our favourite Club lounge :lovestruc (not that I've tried any others, LOL AKL keeps pulling us home! :cloud9:)
August 21-26th AKL BLISS :cloud9:
That is awesome! I didn't even call because we are on a 40% PIN and I don't think I can combine offers. I guess I could be wrong. You aren't on another discount too, are you?

To the person asking about AKL CL:

I can often make a light supper from the evening offerings. Last time I was there, they served things like corn and curried seafood tarts, spinach and paneer cheeses samosas; olives, carrots, celery; cheeses (manchego, 5 counties cheddar, Blue and Tillamook cheddar); 2 kinds of hummus; crackers; pita chips; UnCrustables...Shiraz and merlot plus a white wine (this was a change. Used to be 4 or 5 different varieties it seems); There is definitely beer but I'm afraid I don't know what kinds.

Dessert in the evening: small sugar cookies, choc. chip and oatmeal raisin cookies; brownies, rice krispies treats, fruit tartlettes.

At afternoon tea time - brownies, tea cookies, scones, kettle chips, rice krispies treats (there are things I'm forgetting...)

For breakfast -
Mango juice, pineapple juice, orange juice
croissants, muffins, incredible strawberries, bagels,
Blueberry muffins, bran muffins, choc. chip muffins, pineapple, cantaloupe, blueberries and then oatmeal and quinoa; there are sm. pkgs of pnut butter which I put on a banana for some protein! They also have yogurt in the fridge.
BEST coffeemaker on property. The old one was REALLY nice. Too bad it's long gone...

For a more substantial b'fast, Mara has nice items like a Bounty Platter with scrambled eggs, biscuit, small Mickey waffle, sausage, bacon and potatoes (maybe $7.95 or $8.95?)

That is awesome. Congratulations. AKL CL is my favorite too :cloud9:

I just booked CL @ WL with the 40% off code. I am so excited! We have stayed CL at POLY and YC before but I am looking forward to trying somewhere new. :)
Congratulations :cool1:

Unfortunately, you can't combine discounts, but wouldn't it be great if you could? PErsonally, give me 40% off over free dining any day. With my discount for our upcoming trip I'm saving over $1000 for 5 nights, better than free dining.

BWI staff FANTASTIC! We stayed BWI CL last year...There is a whole BWI thread. Food was great, staff super...great stay.

Thanks! I did check out the BWI FAQ but it didn't seem as frequently posted on as this one

I did see some great posts in the last 10 pages or so about BWI CL (THANKS!!!) Does anyone have any pictures of the lounge or recent food offerings? What about a picture of the deluxe rooms?

I did contact IPO today and got a lovely email back from Xio with their form. Our ADR date is 5/5 so I need to get on it!

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes Looking forward to reading more!

I'll be there Wednesday so I can report back what food offerings we have.

We will be in a standard CL room.

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

I need some info from those who have stayed in a deluxe CL room at BWI. We decided to change our annual week after Thanksgiving trip to the 1st week of November instead. But as a result, we are unable to use our pin code and keep our GF RPC room :sad1: Right now I have a deluxe CL room at BWI on hold. From what I have read, these are bigger rooms and have a guaranteed BW view. Other than that, I know NOTHING about BWI, their CL lounge etc. How are the offerings in comparison to the GF (our only CL experience)? Staff? Lounge size? etc.

Thanks everyone!!!

Hello!
We stayed GF RPC in 2006, 2007, and 2008. We switched over to BWI in 2009 to stay at an EPCOT resort. With our family of 5, the deluxe room is great! We love the staff at the BWI CL! We are hoping Lorenzo is still working there when we go back in 5 days. He is great to talk to, and very friendly. The size of the lounge is a bit smaller than GF RPC, but we could always find a seat. The deluxe rooms are great for their Boardwalk view rooms---we love watching the magicians at night from our room!
Let me know if you have any more questions:goodvibes

:worship: Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did you like being away from the monorail after all those trips to the GF?? I think that is what is my biggest concern. Normally we spend most of our time at MK, then Epcot and then DHS/AK. It is such a pain to get to the MK from this area (especially at that time of day when all 5 resorts share a bus ). I know we will probably spend more time at EPCOT then normal this time, since it is F&W, but we will spend a fair time at MK too (we are planning on hitting MNSSHP and MVMCP).

I admit, we will REALLY miss the CL CM's from the GF this time. Joe, Vonnie, Meejay and the rest really are terrific. But it is so nice to hear that the BWI CM's are just as helpful. (shhh.... I already like the IPO staff better than the GF's.... much more upbeat and prompt....we'll see how they do with my ADR's on Wednesday though :rotfl:)

Thanks everyone for chiming in so far!

Nope...no other discount! It was just the FD deal. After posting this though, things changed (see below)

Congratulations :cool1:

Thanks Johnsonet! :goodvibes AKL is my favourite resort and we where excited to be going back....however, after reading that you can apply the Deluxe 40% off deal to a reservation WITH dining, I ran the numbers again. By changing resorts to the Beach Club with Deluxe Dining, I was able to save approximately $700.00. I couldn't pass by that kind of savings, so I changed my ressie yet again! I was sad to give up AKL CL, but my teen son will have a blast trying this new location out, and it will be neat to see what the "other side of Disney" (Epcot area resort) has to offer! I hope we like it as much as our beloved AKL :lovestruc

I am so excited for the 40% room discount that came out!! We're already staying AKL CL for the first half of our trip. Now we are bumping our GV non-CL Poly room up to a Theme Park CL for not that much more!!:banana::banana:

I need to start researching Poly CL now....

That would be great!!!!! Have a great trip! :goodvibes
Thanks! Very excited to be going!!!!

Thanks for the info. I was fine with my almost $1,000 saved on a 40% PIN for the 2 of us for 6 nights, until I read this below...

Wait - so you can use both the current 40% discount and Free Dining together? But does it apply to CL? I am on a 40% PIN currently, but I'm sure that's the same as the discount. I just wonder if I can get my AKL CL room with free dining. I guess I'll call tomorrow and give it a shot.

I'd call guest services (not central reservations) because I've been told that you can't "stack discounts" but what they may mean is they are paying for the dining, see, even with me paying for dining I'm still going to save a bundle.

Glad I can help:goodvibes
It was a bit difficult coming from a monorail resort to a non-monorail resort. On our last trip to the BWI, we only shared buses with the Swan/Dolphin, not the YC/BC. Not sure why that is:confused3 BWI was the first stop heading to MK in the morning, followed by the Swan and then Dolphin. By the time we picked up the Swan guests, the bus was full, so sometimes the bus didn't even make it to the Dolphin. The bus situation was not that bad at all, in my opinion. Yes it was a bit of a pain having to stop at so many other resorts, but we just allowed some extra time. It is SO nice being able to walk to EPCOT and DHS.
I agree, the IPO staff at the BWI is awesome! They are so prompt and have been great to work with!
Let me know if you have any other questions:goodvibes

Thanks lala3291! (Especially for some hope about the MK bus situation :wizard:)

We stayed at the BC back in 2000 and HATED it :sad2: My only other WDW resort was the GF and I just assumed that the service would be the same at all the deluxe resorts. I wanted my robe and chocolates on the pillow!!!!!! (Didn't know we had to request turndown to get it over there :rolleyes1) Then our next hotel was POR which made me long for the GF even more.... But I keep reminding myself how surprised I was at how much I LOVED the CR and hopefully BWI will be the same. Plus my DH and DS are really excited to stay there.

From what I have seen of pics etc. the deluxe room looks FABULOUS!!! (We stayed in a lodge tower room at the GF a couple years ago and it was great to have that extra space). And the IPO staff has been great so far. I sent them my ADR's this AM since tomorrow is my 180 day point. :wizard:

Thanks again!

The deluxe rooms really are great! I will definitely get pics for you. Anything else in particular that you (or anyone else) would like pics of? I am so excited I can't stand it!

I am so green about the Boardwalk that I will take whatever you post!! :goodvibes But I would love to see of the room view pics as well. Thanks!! And that is too cute about your DD! DS and I leave in 31 days for his birthday trip at the CR and he has fun putting an X on the calendar each day to cross it off! Don't you love it when your kids love it as much as you!
