Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

I usually just lurk around and read...

But, as it's getting closer to my trip I'm getting very excited and wanted to share that excitement with people who would understand. (Unfortunately I don't have "Disney people" to share with - including DH who loves me enough to enjoy WDW with me every few years.)

I'm staying CL at BWI during the week of Dec. 14th. It is my first time staying at a deluxe and my second time going during the x-mas season. (The first time I went I got sick so I'm hoping that this time I'll stay healthy through the trip.)

Just wanted to share.

The little details really do make a difference! I'll have to search the boards for the few places that have decent coffee around the World, or else go back to Diet Coke for breakfast for a few days.

Are there any edible items at Wilderness Lounge lounge that you look forward to?

I haven't stayed in the WL, so I can't tell you. I'm familiar with the Nescafe machine because of our stays at the BC and the Poly earlier this year.

cathyge: Enjoy your trip. We love staying BWI-CL so much that we visit 3x a year and I go for a girls weekend in Oct. We are headed back to the BWI-CL January 10th. The CM are the best:cool1: They all have become like family to us. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make small talk. If they see you don't want to be bothered, they will leave you alone. All of them are very knowledgable. ;)
 
Hi ! Just dropping by to check out the thread and start dreaming about our next trip. Don't know when or where, but it has been 3 years since we last went and I need to learn as much as I can about all the new things, resorts and news. :flower3:

We love, love to stay concierge/club level (guess that is the correct term) :)

I'm pretty sure I know this answer but I want to make sure.

If you cancel a reservation, they don't get rid of your dining reservations they have made for you, right?

With the new code that has come out - I'm planning on changing my reservation dates around rather than a 7 day trip - shortening it to 5 days but may change the hotel from the Poly to the GF or Contemporary.

While I'm down there I plan on doing some shopping at DTD. (I'll be buying several personalized ornaments among other items.) I'm pretty sure the answer is yes to this question but I want to double check...

Do they have boxes and packaging materials at the hotel? I'd like to have all my purchases sent to the hotel and then have it packaged towards the end of the week instead of shipping directly from the store. Will the CMs be able to take care of this for me? Is there anyone in particular who would help with this request.

Last December (second week), I tried to get personalized ornaments at DTD. I was told that there was a backlog of orders and they couldn't make them for me. They sent me to the Christmas Shop in the Magic Kingdom. The ornaments were ready later that day.

We stayed Club Level at the AKL. The CMs in the lounge sent me to Zawadi Marketplace to handle packing my purchases and sending them home. A CM in the store took care of everything.

If you do cancel, just let the IPO know that you want to keep the ADRs they made for you. :thumbsup2
 
Saw all of the posts about the coffee machines, what kind does the Innkeepers Club have? A fancy gurgling machine or the Nescafe machine?

So, today I got an email. :) It was a really good one, because it was a new confirmation of our reservation. I opened up and found pixie dust.

I was expecting to see confirmation of our CL GV room, but it appears we got pixie dusted with a CL LV room instead! :cloud9:

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm not quite up to speed on the acronyms, and on the meaning of pixie dust. Could you please explain what your post means (asking sheepishly...)
 
I booked at Club Level room with a Garden View room booked at the Yacht Club. When I checked the reservation today, it had been upgraded/pixie dusted by some wonderful Cast Member to be a Club Level room, but it now is a Lagoon View room. I wanted a Lagoon View room to begin with but I didn't want to pay the additional money, so it was nice to find the upgrade.

Congragulations and I know that feeling. When my family and I stayed at the Polynesian in December 2007 the week we left we got an e-mail from Disney Destinations assmuming it was another confirmation for our Club Level - Garden View reservation, however it was a brand new confirmation for a Club Level - Lagoon View.

Hi just upgraded out of the blue to CL at BC,have no idea at all what to expect.
