Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

Just for fun I was looking at the WDW website on the special offers page because I just wanted to see how much it was in both Royal Palm and Sugar Loaf at the Grand Floridian with the 40% room only discount, because that was the other resort we were considering after our stay at the Contemporary and I forget the exact cost after the discount. Well it turns out with the 40% room only deal there are no Club Level rooms available for it and they had availaility in both buildings this past Sunday. Then I looked to see if there were any Club Level rooms left at the Boardwalk and the only thing which came up was their Garden Suite. However when I look for room only reservations at both resorts all their Club Level rooms are available. So either we got very lucky and made our Deluxe Club Level room reservation at the Boardwalk on the right day or would say there is a problem with the WDW website, because of how fast those rooms sold out and yes I know only a specific amount of them are available on each promotion.
I booked my July trip with AP discount as soon as those rates were released. I've been looking at the AP site since I got home from my May trip. At first the only CL rooms at BWI were the Garden Suites but then the standard CL rooms (what I have booked) popped up and those are still available but I was really hoping to see deluxe CL rooms-but I don't even see those available at full price so I don't think we'll be able to upgrade. I haven't checked today...I guess I go take a peak!

I forgot to mention I put in the dates we will be at the Boardwalk which is from August 20 - 25 so I am not sure what the availaility is for any other dates, but for those dates some Club Level rooms are not available with the 40% room only discount.

I just checked my dates (7/18-7/27) again. For some reason I couldn't get onto the passholder sight so I just checked full price and no deluxe rooms available. Guess it doesn't hurt to keep trying.:surfweb:

Well forget what I posted earlier because there is a problem with the WDW website when looking up rooms with the 40% room only promotion. When I select the resort I want and then click Club Level with Concierge Service it shows up as being sold out. However when I select the resort and nothing else then it shows the Club Level rooms are available.

Now I hold my breath... I just finished all of our ADRs, special event ticketing requests, and some other extras we're doing and emailed it to IPO.

Our 180 day starts technically on June 1st for CL, but one of the people I spoke with last week said she might be able to start making them a day earlier since we have a room only the day before on site. We're on DxDDP - and have all the meals planned out, but only 4 breakfasts, since we're on CL. However, that means we managed to squeeze in 3 signature dinners, and line up CRT for dinner (assuming we get everything on the list). We have spent far too many hours on this, but I know it will be worth it not stressing once we're there. I'll have to work on a PTR after we get word back from IPO that things are a go.

:cool1:

I was able to log into the passholder site this morning. Availability does change. This morning I saw BC GV CL & CR MKV CL were available for my dates at 40% off AP rates. Those were not available last week. Still no deluxe CL at BWI though.

I want Deluxe club level for BWI for 7/21 to 7/28 and can't get it either. :guilty: I booked standard club in the meantime though. I have an annual pass and the 40% off alice in wonderland email pin and they didn't have deluxe with either discount. They do offer it with the 25% off summer savings code though, not that I'm willing to take a discount for only 25% when I can get 40%. ;)

I received a 40% off pin, but when I called to book the CM said I couldn't use it on a CL room. I got free dining instead, so not a huge difference, but I'd still like to save the $200. Amyone knows how that would happen?

really?

I ended up using my passholder discount, but the cm never said that I couldn't use my 40% off pin for a club level room? Maybe they were sold out of CL rooms or did they actually say that the discount couldn't be used for CL room?

Ditto. We're not using the passholder discount, but we have a 40% fairy godmother pin, and were able to use it at YC/CL. However, we were originally booked at AKL/CL without a pin, and couldn't use it there because they were sold out of "pin code" rooms. It might just mean that you have to look at a different resort. A word of caution on that though - we actually spent a few hundred more using our pin, but still feel as though we upgraded doing so (even if we were still going from one CL to another CL resort category).

I Haven't seen a deluxe room at full price for my dates since I started looking around May 13th. I'll keep looking but not holding out too much hope. I can justify the extra $75ish for the deluxe room at 40% off but not nearly $175 if its only 25% off.

I'm sure we'll be fine in a standard CL room.

Maybe I'll see you in the lounge. This time I'll be there with the whole family-me, DH, DD(11), DS(9), DD(7).

I would try calling again. Unfortunately with a pin you have to call-can't check availability online.

abbyar, I agree with the PPs who said the CM probably meant it CL just wasn't available. I am using the Alice pin on a Deluxe CL room at BWI the first week of November (and was previously booked RPC at the GF the week after Thanksgiving with it).

Have to agree with previous posters - either you received bad info, or the CL rooms were just not available. I just booked Poly CL with my 40% pin :thumbsup2

I think I'll just keep checking daily on the passholder site. I have a 17 yr old DD and a 20 year old DS, so the sleeper sofa would be better than having to put DD on the daybed. Luckily for me she's a 5ft tall peanut, so she fits, but she's not usually happy about it! :rotfl:

Isn't that funny, that for my dates they have availability at rack rate and the 25% off summer rate. I'm hoping that they'll add those rooms into the inventory for passholders! Wishful thinking, huh? ;) I'll ask to do an upgrade at check-in, if it doesn't become available online before that. :)

Well it depends on what I am trying to do on their website, although it did teach me a lesson. If I am looking up any more future reservations I will just select the resort and dates, but I won't be any more specific then that. I mean while it may sound easier to click Club Level with Concierge Service if it will say it's sold out but it's really not, then what's the point of having that as an option?

They've had that glitch in their system for quite some time now. I agree with you, what's the point? (ok, on very rare occasions it does work - I guess that's what they consider "success"!! :rotfl:)

I would agree it with that, although here is another glitch I noticed. After putting in the dates and the selecting a specific Deluxe Resort it would always show the Animal Kingdom Lodge and their rates, so I then had to click edit and select the resort I wanted.

LOL I never noticed that because I'm always looking for a room at AKL!! I thought their system just knew me and my preference!!

I think that is a new glitch. I noticed it today too but it used to work when you asked for BWI.:confused3

I never check the CL box- I just go for the hotel we want and then see what comes up from there. That CL box NEVER seems to work :confused3

RachelTori- AKL CL is on our list of resorts to try based on all the great reviews we have see here! :thumbsup2

Last year was our first CL experience and we are HOOKED!!! It is so nice to have the lounge for a quick breakfast, or for a glass of wine in the evening, a sugary snack before bedtime ;) We are staying non CL next week and I honestly think we will miss it, even with DxDDP!! :sad1:
