Hey all - I searched previous posts, but I couldn't find anything less than 3 years old.

We will be doing a Disney cruise in 2025 in a concierge verandah. There is another family thinking of joining us, but they would not book a concierge class room. I understand they will not be able to join us in any of the dedicated concierge class areas. However, we would like to dine together, including one evening meal at Palo. Will our concierge be able to make a reservation for a party of 4 for us at Palo?

In past posts, the official concierge email indicated they could make dining reservations for the concierge cabin and up to 4 other linked cabins. However, the most recent report of this was in 2020. Anyone have more updated information? We have no issues "linking" our cabins (and I understand this should also then ensure our other rotational dining is automatically linked so we dine together) but I am mainly focused on how we tackle the Palo reservation.

Yes, your concierge is able to book your friends to dine in Palo with you. Be sure your reservations are linked.

I just did exactly this in December 2023.. my wife and I were concierge, my two adult sons (and one daughter in law) were not. Total of three cabins. We had no problem including them in all our scheduled plans for Palo or excursions or tastings. This was true even for the things we 'booked in advance' per the concierge booking time. We just indicated this in our request letter sent out at midnight and they linked us all in together. That was before we even boarded. Once we boarded, it was not problem to sit down with the concierge team and book additional things together, even things that were 'booked solid' opened up for all of us. And yes, they went with us to early theater seatings.

The one thing Disney will always tell you if you ask, is they can NOT join you in any of the concierge only areas, like the lounge or sundeck or on boarding. But we introduced our family in the beginning to the concierge team leader, we were all wearing our cruise cards so they could see who was what, but nothing was said on the few occasions our kids DID join us in those areas. but we were sure NOT to go if the places were crowded. and we did tip well. Oh, and they boarded with us with the rest of concierge. So, there are the official things you could do in advance as mentioned below, and if you didnt draw too much attention to yourself, you could enjoy other things as well.

the one thing that was a firm no no was on arriving at the terminal and checking in. we had the concierge line, they had theirs.

Going into it I was concerned, but it really did work out great. Hope this helps.

Only the concierge team can choose when to ignore the rules… I’d caution against the assumption they won’t be sticklers. Folk will be understandably upset if they are then treated otherwise. Best to just assume you were able to get pixie dust.

I wasnt trying to imply that... just describing my experience. Should I not? No assumptions but I have often found with Disney there is always the official conservative answer if you put them on the spot and ask them directly, but if you just smile they can, sometimes, accommodate with the magic. I then say thank you and they smile back. I think as long as people are not jerks and understand that going in, and don't demand otherwise, they will sometimes be pleasantly surprised. But, these days, people not acting like jerks is increasingly rare.

Thanks all for the answers and experiences. It sounds like the main thing I am focused on (the dining reservations) should be no problem at all. We have only been on DCL once, and it will be the first time for our friends so I was mainly concerned about Palo reservations as they seem to be quite popular (and it's very hard to tell how often they "sell out" on 7-day cruises). Our friends aren't the type that would even be comfortable joining us in the Concierge area so I don't think that's on our radar, but I appreciate the anecdotal experiences. We'll be on the Treasure and are very excited about the new bars/lounges, so I don't think we'll be spending a ton of time our "social" time in the concierge lounge in any case.

We thoroughly enjoyed the bar/lounge scene on the Wish (treasures sister ship), and just booked the treasure to experience those. Regardless we found time to also chill in the concierge lounge. If you enjoy the bar/lounge experience, I also encourage you to check into the various ‘tastings’ that you have to sign up early for and often sell out. They are a lot of fun, you get to know the bartenders better, and you often meet like minded new friends. My wife’s and my tradition is to sign up for the champagne tasting on embarkation day. Always learn something new and it’s a great start to a vacation!
