Concierge check in question

When you are staying in a concierge room and you check in early in the morning and your room is not ready yet, are you allowed to use the concierge lounge for tea/coffee/breakfast, etc.? or do you have to wait until your room is ready to receive the concierge lounge priveleges?

In March 04, we stayed at AKL concierge. When we arrived our room was not ready. When we first arrived, we were taken upstairs to check in. We got a snack while waiting to talk to one of the CMs at the concierge desk. They encourged us to make ourselves at home.

yes you are welcome to use the lounge...
also, sometimes when you check in early in the morning, your room is ready....so don't assume that it won't be..
in fact, you should let the itinerary planning office (IPO) at the hotel you're staying at know what your arrival time is...
they might be able to have your room ready for you (if the hotel isn't too full)...

we didn't arrive early in the morning, only at noon....but when i spoke with the GF IPO, he asked what time we would be arriving....i said at noon....he said "no problem, we'll have the room ready for you"......he already knew at that point that it was doable....

Thanks for the information above...I wondered if IPO could use that information for planning but since it seemed like a room assigner type question I didn't know if they cared about our flight arriving at 9:30a.

In that same vein, would it help to also mention to them that we are interested in waiting until LATER in the day to get in our WL Honeymoon Suite if that will give us an MK view room? I just got the itinerary letter from IPO and haven't filled it in yet. Your thoughts please.

based on my experience .... i would encourage you to email them and not just fill out the letter. before our trip i emailed back and forth with the same planner several times. that helped me feel really good about our schedule because at that point she "knew" us

A good tip, thank you! I will do both but have little to request since I have all PS already. Staying at WL in the Honeymoon sutie IS the treat for us and we require little else to make it so fabulous!!!

What about the day you check out. Once you check out(11 am I guess) are you out? We're staying the whole day, and when we return to collet our luggage, if we could grab a bite it would be great.

i dealt with all the IPOs (AKL, WL, GF) by both email and telephone....
they are wonderfully helpful...
