8034 is indeed a mid-ship category 3. Very nice setup and a triple length verandah.
Prior to sailing, you can call and speak with Debbie in
DCL dining. She can assist you with making your Palo reservation ahead of time and you can also put in a request for a specific dining rotation if you'd like.
Upon arriving at the DCL terminal, there is a separate line for concierge check-in. Your room keys will be gold. The CM will let you know where and when the meet & greet is scheduled for (but usually it's in one of the lounge areas on deck 3). You can sit on the sofa by the glass doors until boarding begins. Guests needing assistance are boarded first, then concierge, followed by general boarding.
If you choose to go to the meet & greet, they have cool drinks and snacks available. You'll meet your concierge team and they can assist you with any arrangements you might need. If you are travelling with children, a representative from the kids club will be there for sign in.
In your stateroom, you should find some assorted sodas and water. You'll receive daily treats like a fruit basket, canapes, mini desserts, cookies and if you have children, they may receive arcade cards or coloring books. Concierge does stop by daily to check on you and leaves phone calls with port and weather information. Typically during the cruise, you will also receive an invitation to a private cocktail party.
As other posters have mentioned, you can order room service from any of the restaurants and full breakfasts to be delivered (other than disembarking day). You'll receive your final bill earlier in the day and if there are any problems, concierge will take care of them for you. We've also received gifts of lithograps on the final evening.
Our experience with concierge has been excellent. I thought that they go out of their way to make everything wonderful. We travelled most recently in January without our kids and they were able to get us a reservation for all 4 nights in Palos.
Enjoy,
Tammi
