Hi there. We are concierge on our first cruise. I have read that we will go to the lounge upon boarding to go over our itinerary. Are the snacks there at that time enough that we will not need to go to cabans for lunch? Also when done with meeting in the lounge is this still early enough that doing aquaduck would be relative low wait? Thank you.

Maybe. The snacks are that-small finger sandwiches, fruit and mini desserts. You could make lunch out of it if you had had a large breakfast or if you're not big eaters. Cabanas is open fairly late (2:30-3:00 ish) so you might grab a piece of fruit, sandwich or dessert, listen to the concierge spiel, hit the aquaduck and then eat at Cabanas, depending on priorities.

The line at aquaduck will get long pretty early but if you're one of the first out of the CL meet and greet it shouldn't be too bad. The hosts do like to sit down and explain things (especially if this is your first time in concierge or cruising) so if the kids are really really wanting to go I might divide and conquer if possible (ie one parent listen to the host while the other parent goes to aquaduck). It really sort of depends on when you get into the lounge and how thorough the CL host is (DH still remembers our first time and it was a good 15-20 minutes:eek:).

I would do the aquaduck first, then go to the lounge. There are times when the lounge is full and guests are asked to wait to enter. There should be plenty of time to get lunch after the lounge meet.

If you get on the ship as soon as they open up boarding, you should be able to make it to the lounge and then go to Cabana's. There will be enough food there that you could call it lunch if you are not super hunger (especially if you have early dining). If you board a little later and want to go to Cabana's, you can certainly go there first if you wanted to. If you go to the lounge you can drop off you carry on luggage with the hosts and then head up to Cabanas, pool or aqueduck.

You are also not "required" to go to the lounge right away. The CMs will direct you that way but it is your cruise and you can do what you like. The concierge hosts will be in the lounge the entire cruise and they can review your cruise plans anytime. If you want to take advantage of being the first ones on the ship and get a jump on the Aquaduck, I say go for it. You'll just need to have swimwear on or with you and find a restroom to change. You'll still have plenty of time to hit lunch afterwards (concierge lounge or Cabana's) and your swimwear or coverups will be fine. You just have to deal with having your carry on luggage with you the entire time. Enjoy your cruise!

We went right to lounge. It goes pretty quickly. Food was nice. Our room was ready. We then went up to Cabanas.

I found the best time to go on AquaDuck was when everyone was at early dinner. My guys are kinda of over the shows, so AquaDuck at 4:45p-5p. We rode it one night 6 times in a row with barely a wait.

In all honesty I've blown off going straight to the lounge 2/3 cruises. Gone to Cabanas and then either to our cabin or to ride Aqua Duck. I touch base with them shortly before muster drill. The lounge is less crowded and I am in and out.
