Hi all,
I need to use some developer's points at DLR this May and haven't been to DLR for over 10 years!! Need some advice . . .

I want to stay 2 nights (Memorial day Mon and Tuesday) and can "afford" 65 points, which breaks down to either 2 nights Grand Cali DCA/ pool view OR 2 nights Paradise Pier concierge level city or pool view.

any opinions?

Let me start this out by telling you I have never stayed at the GCH, but would love too. I have however stayed at the PPH (and the DLH), at the concierge level. The GCH is just so beautiful and centrally located that I would be really tempted to stay there in your situation. I really can't say we spend that much time in our rooms, we get to the parks early(leave mid-day to relax only when my Hubby is with us, other wise I stay at the park all day.). Would you take advantage of the concierge..? Continental type breakfast, snacks during the day, and the wine and beer hour? (We would not, we pretty much stay in the park.) Then you have games on the room TV, and snacks left in your room, at the evening turn-down of your bed. If those ameneties are important to you then go with the concierge, but if you want to expierence breakfast in the park, and not hang out in your room go with the GCH. Any Disney stay is awesome, I love staying at the DLR, either way you won't be disappointed.:tink:

Last May I spent 1 night PP concierge pool view (the booking CM had actually upgraded me to park view concierge since I was celebrating my BD but the concierge person downgraded me after I checked in b/c the pool room was available immediately. Had I known she was doing that I would have waited but all she said was she could get me a room right away. Anyhoo - that's way OT - sorry! Then I move to GC park view for 2 nights.

I did like PP and would stay again but I didn't take advantage of the concierge at all in the evenings, and the continental breakfast was not worth the difference IMO. It was nice - but I would rather stay at the Grand and have the location.

I'm splurging with DP's in 2 days and staying at GC concierge! I'm planning on more relaxing with some park time so I think I'll take advantage of the amenities this trip. The parks are also closing early so I'll have much more evening time at the hotel.

I think you made a good choice. Concierge service may be nice, but there is no "view" from the PPH concierge lounge.

Whereas at the GC, you'll have a great view, and the hotel atmosphere is so much nicer, plus you have a sitting area where you can go relax. I would have chosen GC, too.

GCH all the way. Altho I've never done concierge I would pick the GCH over the PPH anyday.

Everyone else is right, go with the GCH. Just the convenience of having the room closer to the parks with a fireplace that you can go hang out at (with a warm beverage from the lounge next door) is worth the drop from concierge.

I'm not a fan of Concierge anyway. Last month at WDW got upgraded to club level at the Contemporary and hardly used it. I would never pay good money for it.
