This is my situation and I am undecided on which way to go. Thought maybe everyone here could give me some input on making a decision:( :

I have a ressie for the CR Tower the first week of Dec. this year. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of AP or room only codes as is everyone else so our stay will be alot more affordable.

Now that the excitement has set in with all of the planning I've been thinking of how tempting it would be to do concierge for our stay.

What started all of this is that the last time we stayed at the CR-- Dec of 2001 we got a complimentary upgrade to the 12th floor concierge. If you have'nt been there and done that before it is as everyone here says -- once you get a taste of concierge you don't want to go back.

We really loved just being able to get the breakfast items in the morning but the extra cost for this if we're paying for it just does'nt make sense. We could probably just go to the food court for a whole lot less.

What really got me considering this is I may be coming into some extra money and my parents are coming along with us and getting connecting rooms. I would totally love to surprise them with the upgrade to concierge when we get there. They were with us the last time we got the complimentary upgrade and just loved it.

Does anyone know if I were able to get an AP discount for the 12th or 14th floor how much of a savings it would be off of the rack rate or how much more it would cost me to get the concierge instead of a regular Tower room?? With the AP savings that is. I know how much more concierge is with the regular room rates.

Do you think it would be worth it or should I just stay with the regular Tower room? We also liked the bottled water in our room and the option of asking for a fridge on the 12th floor.

Can anyone tell me of the difference btw 12th and 14th as far as price, balcony size, and food offerings. Thought I read somewhere here where balcony size was different on 14th floor but maybe not.

Also just as a side thought does anyone know if there would be any suite rooms available at the CR that with an AP or room only code would be just as affordable as 2 Tower rooms. Right now we have the 2 Tower rooms booked but if the price was anywhere close and they had a suite with a bedroom and pull out couch in the living area it would be great to do that. We only have 4 adults total and 1 6 yr old DD. It has to be in the Tower though as my parents don't want to stay anywhere else. We'vee stayed in the wings before and they were OK but nothing beats the Tower!! Thanks for anyone's input. :)

I am not an expert - but I have not seen discounts for Suites or 14th floor at CR. I ama FL resident and AP holder and didn't get anything. We stayed in a 1 bdrm Suite on 14th floor in May and paid rack rate - ouch!!!!!

The suite layout is one HUGE living room/dining room/kitchen and an attached "regular" room. It has two balconies. The balcony off of the living room is as huge as the room. It has a table for six and lounge chairs. The balcony off of the bedroom is also large with two lounge chairs. We had a tremendous view of the castle and fireworks.

Food offerings were extensive all throughout the day. Concierge service was absolutely amazing. I felt like I had my own staff - they were not crowded when we were there and they remembered our names and what we liked. Also arranged for many surprises for DS - as it was his birthday. We stayed GF concierge main building and felt the food offerings were comparable. We missed the live entertainment you get at GF - but there was no comparison in the level of personal service.

But it was VERY expensive.....only for special occassions.

Thanks eeyore65!

If you don't mind me asking what was the rate you paid for the suite?? And so you're also saying the only discounts possibly available would be for the regular Tower and 12th floor only??
Thanks again!;)

I have blocked out of my mind the price (and DH will NEVER know)....you can check the website and I know it is on there.

I have seen discounts for tower rooms & 12th floor concierge and got FL rates once for the tower.

BTW - we had MIL with us and she couldn't get over the service or the size of the room. She kept hoarding food thinking it wouldn't be back - LOL! The mousekeeper must have thought we were crazy as they were constantly restocking the fridge with the drinks we liked best (they asked at check-in) and MIL would have "extras" she would take from the lounge.

I've stayed 14th floor concierge for 3 trips but I've never stayed 12th floor so I can't comment on the 12th floor. The first trip we got a complimentary upgrade to the 14th floor. The second and third trip we paid full rate. It was something like $480 a night for just a room, not a suite. I think that in the tower the only floor that has suites is the 14th so I imagine a suite would be a whole lot more.

The balconies on the 14th floor are larger than those on the lower floors but you make up for it by having a slightly smaller interior. I never noticed the difference though. I'd rather have the bigger balcony. On the 14th floor there's a concierge lounge that has a balcony overlooking the Magic Kingdom so we always had the best of both worlds. We'd watch the MK fireworks from the concierge balcony then go back to our room on Bay Lake side and watch the EWP.

If you have any more questions about the 14th floor let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. Hope that helps out.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I've heard others say that Disney doesn't offer any type of discount on 14th floor concierge. I don't know if it's true or not but we've never gotten any kind of discount.
