Concierge AKV

when will the Concierge villa be ready
and will you be able to get this as an extra charge for all DVC villa there

Currently Dec. 1. Originally, the opening date was May of 08.

Apparently the only AKV that will be club level are those located on the 6th floor of Jambo House. Can't remember the source of that info though.

Also reports are that it is only 5 2 bedroom units that qualify - this could work out to 5 1BR and 5 studio depending on how they are booked since they are lock off units. Have not seen any mention of being able to pay for the concierge level services if staying on points.

I thought it was 8 units total. Anyway, it wont be a lot, and will be VERY difficult to book at anything other than the 11 month window.

I hadn't thought out this before but I was wondering if my ressie for April is going to be a scheduling headache for someone given the very limited number of concierge rooms. I went and booked 2 nights in a club level studio followed by 3 nights in a 1 br club level.

You're not alone. We used almost all of our 2007 and 2008 AKV points to book 2 nights in a 2BR for one trip and 3 nights in a 1BR for another. I will actually try to add onto the 1BR trip with other points when I can.

I believe the info has been confirmed by a number of guides and I believe it is mentioned in one or more of the legal documents as well. As to the exact number of concierge villas there will be, you can actually figure it out based on the number of AKL rooms on the 6th floor. There are 6 rooms that face the pool and 9 rooms that face the Sunset savanna. It takes 3 AKL rooms to make one 2BR lockoff, so you end up with 5 2BR lockoffs, 2 facing the pool area and 3 facing the Sunset savanna.
