Thinking of reserving a 2-bedroom on the concierge level at AKL at our 11 month mark. I know there are very few concierge rooms. For those of you that have been in them, how is the location? And, how are the views?

Thank you!

There are only 5 2-bedroom lock-offs (1-bedroom & studio w/interior connecting door) that make up the DVC portion of Concierge Level at AKL/AKV and only exist in Jambo House. Of those, 3 overlook an alcove of the Sunset Savanna and the other two overlook the Uzima Pool.

As far as where they are located in the building, they are directly above the rooms numbered 5202-5209 & 5401-5406 in this link: http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5.php. The Club Level Lounge occupies the space above the rooms numbered 5101-5106. There are no other rooms on the 6th floor of Jambo House.

The location is great, the views the worst at the resort IMO.

If you want a good room view, the drinks and tid-bits of food that comes with CL doesn't make up for it.

So you would just go with 2-bedroom savannah view? We enjoy concierge at paradise pier and always wanted to try it there

IMO you should give everything a try. People love BLT, for me it's just okay. Point is you need to make your own decision.

I would plan on a short stay in the 2 bed savanna view then move to CL for a couple of days if you can get it. You can start using the CL amenities as soon as you check in.

We own there, so should be able to get it right at 11-month window? What are the current food offerings like. And, is something available all day?

We have done two stays on CL at Jambo. We had a 2-BR savanna view and a studio pool view. I think I actually prefer the pool view.

There are servings throughout the day from 7AM until 10PM. There are about 5 separate serving periods with different kinds of food. The first serving is breakfast stuff, with snacks during the next two sessions followed by a serving with beer, wine and heavy snack and finally cordials and desserts. The foods served from day to day are pretty similar. Overall, we really enjoyed it and have plans to stay there again next summer.

The 2-BR CL may be the most difficult room to get on property. Since there are 5 lock-offs, if all 5 studios are booked, there are no 2-BR villas. I watched 2-BR availability for a couple of months before booking our stay, and frequently they were not available. The 1-BR's were generally always available beyond the 11-month mark. You may want to watch 2-BR availability closely for awhile and consider "walking" if needed.
