Conch Fritters Gone @ OKW

Just checked in @ OKW and went to Goods for our usual order of Conch Fritters. THEY ARE GONE! They say they no longer have them!! Guess I will have to go to Universal Margaritiville to get my fix.

Hope they come back.

By the way, that should be the very vocal response every time anyone encounters something truly disappointing at Walt Disney World.

Still Miffed! How can Disneys OKW have a Conch Flats general store, use Conch Flats in most of their Resort descriptions, and not serve their usual snack of Conch Fritters???? Might be time to start a revolution!

Just part of the new "conventions style" food they now serve when they changed the menu in early May for the DDP masses. Check out the thread on "Why did OKW's Olivias have to change"..smjj

We were disappointed by this as well. Funny, I did say to my waiter, aww now I have to drive all the way over to Universal and spend a day there just because you don't have them!

Make sure these comments, especially the ones about going to Universal, find their onto the DVC surveys that we are asked to fill out after a vacation.

Got to admit, I tried them once. I don't ever have to eat them again! LOL!

(I have had Conch Fritters that were GOOD, however, pre-frozen ones aren't good and that's what these had to be.)

I actually think they need some more food that most kids will eat. And most kids aren't going to each Conch, Chicken maybe. (Or course, that's probably what those were!)

I have to admit that that particular menu item wasn't one of my favorites...but it blended well with the Conch Flats/OKW theme, and I'm sorry to see them off the menu for those that did enjoy them. I agree, it is, sadly, part of the overall quality decline and menu standardization brought about, at least partly, by the impact of the Dining Plan.
