I really, really want to go see U2 in Chicago Sept. 12. That's the weekend of my birthday, and I have been a fan of U2 since 1983. I've been looking on Ebay and Stub Hub and various other places for tickets, and they are outrageously priced. I could probably get a couple of super nosebleed tickets for around $150-$200 each, but I just can't bring myself to pay that! It's an 8 hour drive to Chicago, so we'll also having to be paying for a hotel, meals, gas, etc. My husband says it's fine, but I would just hate to spend that much. For one thing, I the only other time I saw them was in 1992 at the old Busch Stadium in St. Louis with a friend of mine. We had tickets three rows from the top of the stadium, so we could barely see anything. To make matters worse, there was a couple in front of us having sex right there in front of everybody! I would hate to spend all that money and drive all that way to have another bad experience. I haven't been to a concert since I saw REM in 1995, so I'm having sticker shock on ticket prices!
I saw U2 3D last year and loved, loved, loved it! I wish it was still playing, and I'd be happy with just going to see it again! I hope bands start doing more 3D concert movies. It's a great way to feel you're right up front without dealing with all of the other concert annoyances!
