Hi. We have cruised in late March (4 day) before, but the family is thinking about a late December cruise (7 day Western). What is the weather like ? Is there anyone who has cruised during the month of December? Thanks for any help you can give me.

We have cruised the past two December's and are going again in 2003. It is my favorite time to go. The weather back home is always nasty and the weather in the caribbean perfect. About 80 degrees. The evenings stay warm too- so much so that you can be on your veranda at midnight and still be comfortable in shorts and a tank top.

December is a perfect time to go--we always do the week beginning 2 days after Thanksgiving because prices DROP then and the ship is already decorated for Christmas. But being from Florida--we love December weather. It's riskier getting cold weather in mid to late Jan. through mid Feb. We can sometimes go water skiing on Christmas here!! So you know it will be that much warmer in the Caribbean!! Plus you are clear of hurricane season by then!!! Have a blast!:)

Is the weather consistent for the month of December? We are planning a trip for either the week before or the week after Christmas. We want to be able to wear shorts and swim... and of course sleep with verandah door open.

Would love to know your experiences.

Thanks!

I've cruised the past three Decembers and have the fourth planned this year. The Caribbean portion of the cruise has been generally good, a little rain in St. Thomas one year. Castaway Cay was COLD and rainy one year as well; but the other three years we had great weather. The water is definitely cooler there in the winter months, though.

Overall we love December cruising. :)
