Concerned about size of Poly pool

We stayed at BC on our last trip and are deciding between WL or Poly for next one. We totally loved the pool at BC/YC (who wouldn't?) and are concerned about the size of the pool at Poly. It appears to be pretty small in pictures. For anyone who has stayed there in the summer months...how crowded does it get in the afternoon?

Thanks!

The Volacano pool will likely be very crowded. The "Quiet Pool" will be less so. I found the single pool at WL to be about the same size with the same crowd level as the Polynesian's Volcano pool.

Of course, nothing beats the castle view and the ability to watch Wishes from the Volcano pool!

We have stayed at the Poly in June, July, and August. It wasn't insanely packed on any of these trips. If it felt a little crowded, we just hopped over to the quiet pool. Our kids prefer the quiet pool for swimming. They just use the volcano pool to get their slide fix each day.

I've stayed there in July and in August and never found it "packed". Some days there were more people than others, but it never felt crowded.

And like Poly Pal said, NOTHING beats the view of the castle and fireworks, from that pool. :3dglasses

(Hi clombardi!) :wave2:

I'd say the WL and the Poly pools get about the same amount of crowded. But the "quiet pool" at the Poly is pretty big and nice too. I'm not sure if the WL has a quiet pool, but it's always nice to know at the Poly that there's somewhere to go if the Volcano pool get's too crowded.

I really miss the old Waterfall pool at the Poly, though...sigh...good times, good times...

This is one of my concerns too. Timely thread. From what I have been getting is that is does get crowded at times but it is doable. If that makes any sense.

I agree with that. Even when it's crowded, it's not like people don't have room to swim. If you've been in the wave pool at TL, it's normally MUCh more crowded hehe

I've stayed at both resorts and the Poly pool is more crowded by far. Both resorts have quiet pools also. WL quiet pool is over by the villas.

I understand your concern coming from the Beach Club which, of course, has the best pool on property. But, I have to say we really like the volcano pool. You can't beat the underwater Hawaiin music and the slide is pretty good. Yes, I am an adult without kids and I do the slides. As does my DH. :thumbsup2 You'll like the zero entry and the views are second to none. We've been in July and it wasn't over crowded. Certainly not empty, but not over crowded either.

This is a dumb question I guess, but when reading about the "quiet pool" I always assumed it was an adult only pool. I am guessing from these posts that kids can swim in it as well?

Also thanks for the info of the music being played - that sounds awesome!:cool1:

We've stayed at both the WL and Poly in July.

In both cases, the pools were busy, but certainly, it's possible to swim and have fun. Sometimes the kids had to wait for the slide a bit, but never to the point that they were upset about it.

The quiet pool was just a nickname people put on it since the activity was always over at the other pool. It is officially called the East Pool and is open to anyone (not just adults).

I love pools and I actually like the Polynesian pool with the slide, zero entry and being on the beach, better than Storm-along-Bay myself. I found SAB to be crowded and closed early. The Polynesian pool is always open. The slide closes when the life guards leave but you can still swim. I also like to go and sit on the chairs out on the beach when I get out of the pool and watch the activities on the lagoon.

The only thing I didn't like about the Poly pool was lack of "deck" space. There didn't seem to be enough lounge chairs. And while I loved the zero entry, everybody seemed to lay or sit in the shallow parts which made it hard to get in and swim.
