Concerned about seat assignments

I just checked our seat assignments, and they have us on row 22 of a plane that only has 20 rows. Does this mean that we don't have seats guaranteed or what? We are flying Continental and purchased our tickets over 5 months ago. We booked through Orbitz, but I can't figure out how to change our seat assignments. I don't really care where we sit, although I would like at least 2 of our 3 seats to be together. My main concern is that we aren't bumped from the flight for some reason. It looks like there are about 6-8 seats still available.

Does the plane skip any numbers in their numbering system for rows? I usually fly AirTran & I think they don't have rows 5-7 or something like that. By skipping a few numbers, they would be able to place you in row 22 when there are only 20 rows of seats.

You can check out the seat configuration on seatguru.com, as well as on your airline's web site. As the above poster wrote, sometimes seat rows are skipped in the numbering system.

Log onto Continental's website and put in your confirmation number to retrieve your reservation. You can change seats there. I personally would try and move up if I were in the back row.

Thanks for the help! I was just checking via Orbitz and hadn't even thought to go directly to the airline page. Duh! Anyhow, the seats listed on Orbitz aren't what the airline has listed for us. We are actually row 11 on our first flight and row 22 on the second (larger plane) flight. Thanks again!
