Would you stay in conceirge if you were not doing the safari's? I have 2 studios reserved at the beginning of Dec. We don't plan on doing the safari's. I am 2nd guessing myself if it's even worth it or just upgrade to standard 2 bedroom and make my own "snack" station.... ;) Which would also be less points.

I will admit reading some of the conceirge room reviews I am not thrilled with the idea...

Hmmm, I don't know if I would. I am trying the conceirge level in May so I will probably have a better idea afterwards. If you could book AKV CL Savannah view, then my answer would be yes (after the Kidani construction ends). But since you can't, I just don't know.

That is not the only reason for staying in club level.

I have Been in club level in AKL before notw that I am a member at the AKV
I want to see if it is the same.

I sure it will be the same and I like having all the peeks my etra 7 points a night is worth it all.

We decided against staying concierge studio because of 1) room location right off the lobby and 2) they only converted the rooms that cash customers didn't want (that’s the rumor anyway). I was really excited about concierge until I heard about those two things. We are going to stay in a 1 bedroom standard view instead.

Also, with the two bedroom you will have a washer/dryer. That's a big plus for me.

To answer if concierge is worth it or not depends a lot on how much you plan on being at the hotel. The lounge only has value if you are there to use it. A lot of people don't like being tied down to their hotel.

We're staying club level on our first night in Florida and are not doing the safari. We chose concierge for the convenience of having breakfast and drinks and snacks during the day

From what I have read, AKL Concierge is the best of the Concierge services. I will let you know after my stay in May. We are not buying the DDP this trip, since we will be eating breakfast in the lounge and doing both Safari's that include meals. We are doing another tour that includes a meal too. This is a very different trip for us. I do plan on staying at the Lodge more time than usual. If I were spending all my time in the parks, then probably not.

I have stayed AKL Concierge and Poly as well. Hands down Poly was much better. The staff at AKL was cold at best. That said we will give it another try in April. I booked a studio for three nights after our cruise, we won't have active theme park passes and we will be using many of the hotel amenities. One of the reasons I chose this venue is becasue after a cruise we'd just like to continue to relax so CL will give us that opportunity. I have done the sunrise safari and would do it again--it was well worth the cost. I was going to add the pm safari, but for a family of four that would be a tidy sum! Plus I was not sure if theme park admission is required in addition like the am one. If you are really not going to use the amenities then I would rather go with a guaranteed Savannah room.

The Sunset Safari (aka Wanyama Safari) is a tour of the AKL/AKV savannas followed by dinner at Jiko. It doesn't go into AK at all so no theme park admission is required.
