Conceirge Level of AKV

Congrats to you both!

I called back this morning and was able to change from Savanna to Concierge:) Its just a 3 nighter for DD10 and I...now we can do the Sunrise Safari...(hopefully not booked) However, they were only able to change for 2 nights...yep Fri and Sat..imagine that...lol..thats ok...so if we dont get a savanna view the first 2 nights we know we will the last.

Congrats to everyone else who got what they wanted!! :)

Well, I was on first thing in the morning. As everyone can guess, a 2bdrm concierge level was booked. However, they DID have the 2 bdrm with Savannah View. Not a bad concellation prize if do say so myself. They even said it was open for the rest of the week as of now. WOOHOO!!! :cool1:

Sounds like a great consolation prize, Ryan. Congratulations and happy planning!

I can't believe we have to do this every morning at 7am for a week! The things we do for Disney trips!

Sending :tink: for all you day by day bookers! I almost feel sheepish sharing my excitement about getting a Concierge studio for 3 nights in July. I gave MS 3 weeks, and explained I needed a Thursday night for the Sunrise Safari (although maybe Wed night works too) and Don and I have Tues to Fri checkout in a Studio the last week of July! I am so excited!!!!

I hear ya! Lucky for me, I'm on the east coast, so it is only 9am for me. I found out this morning, that I'm not in the tunnel at that time. WOOHOO!!! :cool1:

Oh, and BCV23, thanks for spelling consolation correctly for me. It was one of those days today once I got home. My brain was....is a little fried. :rolleyes1

OK well I got 2 Studios for the 20th. I had the worst MS person ever. She was rude and wanted all this extra info. I felt like she was trying to stall so that I wouldn't get the rooms I wanted. When she answered she waited like 30 seconds to say hello. I could here her chit chetting in the background. Then she said that I was fine for the 20th but I would have to switch to a lock off on the 24th. She thought that I should just switch now. I did but now I am wondering if that was nessesary? She did now give me a warm fuzzy magical day feeling thats for sure!
I do have my rooms though.
2 nights for us and 1 for our good friends who will be joining us. For not anyway. I just hope the rest of the week goes OK.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the regular studio and the lockoff? I don't think it is a big deal. It is just part of a 2 BR right? But Locked off (I know I am very smart. LOL) Whare are these located?
Thanks
Heidi

If you are familiar with AKL, the building is a series of sections with 7-8 hotel rooms on each side of each section. When converted to AKV villas, this results in 2 2BR lockoffs and 1 or 2 dedicated studios on each side of each section. The dedicated studios tend to be either the first room(s) or last room(s) in each section. The lockoff studios could be right in the middle of each section if the 2 2BRs are laid out as: master BR, living area, studio, studio, living area, master BR or on the ends if the layout is studio, living area, master BR, master BR, living area, studio. Since you have a Standard View, your room will face the pool area.

Re: the differences between a dedicated and lockoff studio, the lockoffs have a doorway that connects to a 1BR. The dedicated studios do not so they can put something else in place of the doorway, such as a broom closet to hold the vacuum cleaner, ironing board, etc. so that they don't take up room in the armoire. Here is the floor plan for one of the dedicated studios. There is some variation in floor plans due to working around structural elements during the conversion so not all dedicated studios look like this. Next to it (but not to the same scale) is an example of the kitchenette and bathroom of lockoff studio. Again, not all lockoffs look like this - some have the connecting doorway on the other side of the kitchenette, and some even have a tiny broom closet.
