comtemp cafe avg. prices/reviews

Trying to get away from DxDp this year, first stay at BLT. Guessing we'll be there more, so CS meals, quick eats will prob. come from contempo cafe. Food there okay? I know the menu prices vary based on what you get on your burger/etc. Figured around $50 for a family of 2 adults, 2 kids. Sound right?

I think your estimate of $50 is probably very close. We enjoyed Contempo Cafe a couple of times last spring break. The food was very good, with a few unique entree selections that set it apart from other CS restaurants. The atmosphere is pleasant.

We really enjoyed Contempo Cafe. I had the Fettucini Alfredo, Turkey Sandwich & cheeseburger. All very good!! My family enjoyed eating there. I'd say $50 seems reasonable.

Maybe it was just a fluke, but I can only think of one meal in the last 3 years that was worse than Contempo. It was so bad that I addressed the issue to CR management.

My favorite items on their menu is the Spice Crusted Mahi Sandwich, Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza, Chicken Ceasar Salad with the dressing tossed in, and their Chicken Corn Chowder Soup which is only available on Saturday's as their soup of the day.

Was it at the Food & Fun Center which was their old counter service location prior to the Contempo Cafe, because it has been open since November 2008.

It was in December 2008, so it was definitely Contempo.

We stayed at BLT in November and ate there a few times, and none of us were impressed with our meals there. Well, ok... My son who is 12 liked the pepperoni flatbread.

I think the best thing we had was the stacked sandwich. I remember ordering the special one night which was some sort of open faced hot beef sandwich and it was GROSS!!! My brother got the beef flatbread and he thought it was pretty bad too.

Needless to say, I think we will be avoiding the Contempo Cafe in the future if we can help it!!!

Oh, a few other good things we had there... Family had the cupcakes and raved about them (I couldn't eat one because of the sugar) and I thought the grapes were very good too!

I only ate breakfast there, but I really loved the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast potatoes. I could go for one right now! I usually ate lunch in the parks and dinner in the villa (or a park, if I was still out) so I didn't eat anything but breakfast at Contempo.

Even with the upscaled items, you have to remember it IS counter service - so if you order something with the idea that it will be like a TS meal, you may be disappointed. If you go in with CS expectations, I think you'll be fine.

That's a very good point to remember for those that have not been there before.
